I wonder what steps advisors Robey Warshaw will advise the BT BOD's to take to fend off any bid that may result after the 10th December? How will the BOD get the backing of large shareholders? Any suggestions anyone?

Chris, ITV Q3 results expected on Nov 10th.
I expect there to be a strong rebound regarding advertising, but DYOR of course.

You have to ask the question why is Openreach/BT valued so cheaply by the London stock market? Would the valuation be down at this low price if BT were an American telecom company on the USA stock market? When you have Drahi stakebuilding for this very reason, he can see value just like we see value in BT.

IMHO, Drahi wants Openreach, I don't think that he wants the whole of BT. Maybe he will make a joint bid with DT taking the rest. At least 300p per share. The big question would be would the government allow it to happen. JMO.

I thought that we may have got a BT RNS after the close today?

Maybe the BT BOD have been spooked by what Deutsche Telekom said regarding them having options to do something within the next 12 months. Maybe Drahi done a deal for DT's 12% holding.

I just wonder if the BOD suspect that Drahi has instructed his helpers to hoover up more BT shares over the past few months on his behalf, taking advantage of a falling share price? he managed to purchase 12.1% under the nose of the market previously without anyone knowing, I suspect that he may well have done it again. Interesting time awaits come December he may well reveal all.

Today just shows how shareholders can miss the boat, this is why I believe the best/safest policy is buy and hold. 200p by December hopefully. Step forward Mr. Drahi.

My guess is that you gambled your inheritance in a company that she was involved in, it went TomTit's up, hence the reason why you blame her for your financial mess. But it's not an unexpected seminar, it was announced at our last results, stop trying to look for something that's not there. If ITV were to acquire CH4 I wouldn't be surprised to see CH4 bring back their 1980's soap opera Brookside for extra advertising revenue. Kerching!

So true mate, CH4 isn't allowed to make a large profit, it invests everything back in to the channel. Only the ignorant wouldn't know this. I will be surprised if the government allows ITV to purchase CH4 because ITV would have 70% of the advertising market. If the purchase price is £500m, this would be a great acquisition for ITV at a very good price. No need for a RI, just a scare story by the ignorant fool. I'm looking forward with great interest to our Q3 results that should show a very strong recovery in advertising. Bring it on.
