Me12345: you must have been a wisker away from your shares being bought. Google says the day high was 797p (buy price).
Are we expecting an announcement today? I was under the impression the buyer had to confirm they were proceeding or walking away today.
Today's rise is down to the figures from the British Retail Consortium. "Take-home grocery sales hit £12.8bn for the four weeks to 25 December 2022, the first time the £12 billion mark has been breached, the report said."
It follows that BME will have benefited from an overall increase in food spending.
I think tomorrow's figures will be good, but not good enough to warrant a special divi. I'm not too bothered about an additional divi, I would rather see them use the money to pay down debt and/or expand further in France.
If Elon Musk is good to his word and sticks to the results of the poll and quits his role as CEO of Twitter, hopefully that will focus his attention back on Tesla and halt the recent decline in the share price there. Let's see.
Looks certain to go through now at 350p, which by coincidence is what I bought in at over a year ago. Least I'll get my money back.
And another one:
Credit Suisse raises Coca-Cola HBC target to 2,600 (2,550) pence - 'outperform'
That's 33% higher than the current share price.
Threeputt; the statement says that "The other parties who previously expressed an interest have confirmed that they are no longer considering a possible offer for the Company" meaning no bidding war on this occasion.
My thoughts exactly JMUK26.
390p isn't going to happen anytime soon. If there was a quick end to the war in Ukraine, inflation dropped to 3%, interest rates peaked early in the new year and the FTSE 100 rose to 10,000 then maybe. But that's not going to happen in the next year.
Agreed it, a very strong update. To be increasing full year guidance by €100m given all the headwinds is excellent. Just shows the power of the brand(s).
