Totally agree, every time one of my stocks delist from TSX it's a slow death, that benefit the few.

Or is it because the Canadians like buying SDX stock and produce positive media reports .... we can't have that now can we Shakey !

It only needs our 3 major holders with over 30% of the votes to agree a price and they only need another 20% of the remaining 70% to also accept the deal ..... and we are sold !

Sound like they want to distribute all the cash in the company and then sell the assets for 55p.

At the request of Ophir, the Takeover Panel has consented to an extension of the deadline for Medco Global to either announce a firm intention to make an offer for Ophir or announce that it does not intend to make an offer for Ophir, until 5.00 pm on 31 January 2019. The parties are in advanced negotiations with a view to agreeing a recommended transaction at 55 pence per Ophir ordinary share in cash.

In accordance with Rule 2.6(a) of the Code, Medco Global is now required, by not later than 5.00 pm on 31 January 2019, to either announce a firm intention to make an offer for Ophir in accordance with Rule 2.7 of the Code or announce that it does not intend to make an offer for Ophir, in which case the announcement will be treated as a statement to which Rule 2.8 of the Code applies.

This deadline may be extended further with the consent of the Takeover Panel, at Ophir's request, in accordance with Rule 2.6(c) of the Code.

Although discussions between Ophir and Medco are ongoing, this announcement does not amount to a firm intention to make an offer under Rule 2.7 of the Code and there can be no certainty that a firm offer will be made. A further announcement will be made as and when appropriate.

Medco has reserved the right to reduce this possible offer price by the amount of any dividend (or other distribution) which is subsequently paid or becomes payable by Ophir to its shareholders.

This announcement is being made with the agreement of Medco and Medco Global.

I think that Medco, will try another low offer and use the boards rejection as an easy exit route from negotiations.

Two parties are probably too far apart for their to be a deal .... thoughts of +70p was but a faint hope of mine.

Just keep producing, farm out Mexico and bringing in the cash with a special 15p dividend to ease the disappointment will done fine.

Then again, who knows

I still find it difficult to comprehend Medco and their 48.5p !!!

Why, knowing it had less than zero chance of being accepted.

Maybe to check out the company response or use 8.3's takeover rules to find out who the +1% holders are or generate some liquidity for their own gains.

They have had access to some sensitive information already via DD that we kindly afforded them. Medco will make an offer on Monday, just have to wait and see what exactly it is. IMO they should go all out at +70p to get the deal over the line this time, no messing, just full and final offer, or walk away for 6 months. (an option they can ill afford)

Medco will be looking at synergies, a massive plus factor in their eyes.

I'm convinced Medco tried to get their hand on our SANTOS SEA assets, and we out maneuvered them on the deal at the time !

Hence, their interest in us now. They still want these assets.

Our SP has been played for many. many months imo, culminating in Medco's offer on Monday, aimo

I "expect" an offer on Monday, so my portfolio holding reflects this.

Nothing is guaranteed in today's markets, although all should take comfort that our TOP 3 holders have all ADDED significantly since the 11th on the open market.

Combined they have well over +30% of the votes as it stands.

Without their backing any deal would flounder on the rocks, instantly.

Agree, I would expect a board backed offer of +70p from Medco

Our board have had long enough to discuss with our major holders, that between them carry +84% of the votes, to get any agreement over the line imo.

Sill 12% higher than last year and significantly higher than 2 years ago (+20%) although well off year high.

We also have hedges I would guess too.

Whether it's an offer that's acceptable is a different point all together.

An offer will be made by Medco for our SEA only imo.
