Don't think we need to wait until winter, demand and supply will re-balance quicker for gas than oil imo. Once we begin to partially re-open, what will that mean, well my view is that organisations will, in general, need to run all environment and operational requirements in full regardless if there are 10 or 1000 people turning up for work. On the other demand side are households that too will need to use their cookers and boilers as not all members of the household would return to work at the same time, kids at home etc. Add in supply reduction as gas shipped to the UK from places like Saudi / US will be reduced (as it tends to be a byproduct of oil production from these countries) so demand for UK Nat Gas, I hope, should improve, likewise, the price too. You are correct that once winter kicks in I can see a significant improvement in gas prices, come 2021 Q1 we could easily be back above 35p/therm.
In the meantime, our hedges in place ensure we remain very profitable well into 2021.aimo
