@Big-Blue, yes 3-4 days of this now, keeping the price down but containing the wild swings, i actually dont mind it, a little bit of pregression every few days is good for your sanity, rather than huge spike and staring at a decimated portfolio for a couple weeks.

looking from a different angle, news today will some what disrupt the share price BUT i expect this up trend to continue for at least a few more days, you know what they say first rule of trading, dont fight the trend.... The real news comes at 11am, thats what we are all waiting for ))

@FallingKnife yes the Russian army has the fire power but not the discipline it would appear, the west has to keep up the pressure as bullies only respond to one thing. @Big-Blue i think the Ukrainians should be seizing the moment and try and get this peace deal over the line. I dont think its in anyones interest to keep antagonising the Russian's, they wont give in till they get what they want so let them have Mariopol and South East at some expense, what ever that may be.

@Ohmni totally agree, these sanctions are more aimed at being an inconvenience rather than a total block on all trade, how do we expect to pay for wheat and grains and the international food companies who carry on doing business. I think some will be surprised how POLY get through this is wont be that difficult I am sure. I read through the Russian sanctions papers on .gov website today and only named person and banks are sanctioned, Boris has also given a month extension for Gazprombank customer to find a new banking method to continue with payments so I don’t see any of this being a problem tbh.
To me its all hot air for today, once this is all over and both sides come to an agreement the sanctions will largely be lifted within days, the whole world cannot afford after international decade long depression

Ukraine have also threatened the Crimea bridge today and have said if they could have laready hit it they would have. In step the Su fighter jets, Dimtry Medvedev has said if they carry out this terrosit act they know what repsonse they will get...

As much as i am on Ukraine side now i think its time to give up for the sake of the people and the rest of the world, Mariopol is already destroyed, let him have it, keep Odessa and stop yourself from being land locked, use this a win with negotiations on some kind of power share for the Donabd Luhkansk and Crimea at a later date.

@Marble ive just been watching news update today and Lavrov is saying they have offered the Ukrainian's today a cease fire if Azov steel plant soldiers surrender, they are happy just to take Mariupol, so pretty much confirms my bargaining chipo scenerio. Its been repeated on a couple news feeds not your typical main stream MSM who wont, of course the US dont want this war to end, war makes a lot of money, and who is bank rolling all this milatary hardware, the tax payer of course.

@panda this is todays news, tomorrow is different story, all this and that Putin is positioning himself for a win somewhere somehow, so if he threatens Odessa and the southern corridor, when negotiating he can lose that as bargaining chip and take donbas and south east without losing face. The most important thing in all this is how VP comes out of it with the Russian general public, nothing else matters. I am sure he realise hes got himself into situation its all or nothing until someone gives him a 'win'

Im no financial expert but being an international company and trading in the US with dollars in the bank i am sure there are other options that we just dont know about. BJ has already given Gazprombank customers another month to find a way of setting up banks accounts to prevent default on payments, might it be as simple as changing as chnaging banks, are all Russian banks on the sanctions list? Taken fro .gov website...

The Regulations prohibit a person from directly or indirectly dealing with a transferable security or money market instrument if it has a maturity exceeding 30 days, and was issued after 1 August 2014 by:

Sberbank, VTB bank, Gazprombank, Vnesheconombank (VEB), Rosselkhozbank (as listed in Schedule 2)
an entity incorporated or constituted in a country other than the UK which is owned by one or more of the five banks listed above

@Polinvest even a 'see how it goes' for now with a robust back up plan B will be good enough for me. We are all asssuming that we need\have to have this demerger, what we need is a way to make payments, i am sure there are other options than just a demerger, the Russians have already foiund ways around the sanctions and so should we as long as its all above board and clearly explained.

Operations at present are not affected and if May 9th is the day why wouldnt they wait just that little bit longer, thats if there is no immediate risk on debt default.

Share holder here looking to add more on the drop, Metom i think the pandemic and war might have something to do with it ? In all seriousness as there doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason looking at the chart its due a big spike in coming weeks, if it drops to 90p and holds. Trending up as its stands all be it weak.
