Reading between the lines, this is an attack back at the moscow exchange by the UK for retrictions already in place for UK investors on Micex, they are basically saying if these retristions against UK investors are not removed we the UK goverment will not recognise the MICEX as an appropriate exchange. It is a 'draft' proposal, so its a warning to Russia, they have till 5th of May to remove these restrictions or new rules will come into place. It does not directly affect us as we are on the LSE as others have said.

"In light of ongoing restrictions on dealing on the Moscow stock exchange on behalf of UK investors, HMRC considers it inappropriate that it continues to be designated as a recognised stock exchange under section 1005, Income Tax Act 2007.
If such restrictions are ongoing on 5 May 2022, HMRC proposes to make an order to revoke its designation.
The order will preserve the status of existing investments for existing investors."

Let them bet, i would say that in a recession\depression, wholesale discount stores are going to be verey busy where peoiple try to save every pound. I had to pop into a large B & M store for something the other day, its a huge store, when i enterede i noticed lots of internal refurbsihments taking place, i asked the girl at the counter about what was happeneing, she explained they have done so well in this large warehouse they are now taking on the warehouse next door, both are the size of football field.

I have to say that their prices are competitive, polite staff, great selection or products and always busy. Knwoing your business regardless at what end of the market it is is the key thing they seem to be doing what they are doing very well.

I dont have position here but am looking for an entry point, that and with a decent dividend to back it up.

latpull, they have been taking out arms depots in recent days with cruise missiles, this suggest they may be in the long game, Odessa is properly mined on the beaches and at sea you are right, the thing is will they bomb the hell out of it?

I can understand the situation with Donbass but cant really see the point in taking Kharkiv, if it was purely to protect the Russian speaking population of Ukraine then Mariopol should be enough.

There has to be an end game in this and Russia will have to win thats for sure, i hope your right about negotiations sooner rather than later.

i would say VLad is more likely to go for Odessa, if he takes the southern corridor it will link up with Transnistria the unrecognised Russian state in Moldova. Personally i dont even think that will happen, to costly now and to much damage already done to both sides, itsa case of saving face now VP, i think when Mariopol falls that will be it.

@Ramp, ignore these muppets, we dropped like a stone last week and look what happened, the market said thank you very much and finished green, new accounts are nearly always negative posters, my advice to anhy newbies is not to come on to this forum if your trying to use this as guide to buy or sell, better to take your position and walk away. Big rise coming in the next two weeks, watch that 20MA line ;-)

ive had no problems at all today getting quotes for 10k at a time, normally 2k is about the limit other wise its a phone call, thats with Interactive Investor btw

literally just now bought another 10K at 250.12, it bumped it to 251 for a few seconds

@sundezena most 'investors' even the short term ones see big money gains on this stock, if you took out a loan and became short of cash would you choose to pay off your mortgage first or the loan company, its common sense to drop the divi, having cash in the bank attracts more investors which means the price should rise, what you dont get one way you get another ;-)

this will be on everyones radar after today, tomorrow morning start is going to be interesting, all those half thinking about buying will now see this as derisked some what. I also expect to see an rns about institutional holdings in the coming days. Just imagine if the ii's had a conversation with the board and they told them about the divi's being suspended, we want in but not at this price.... thats ok, we'll get that sorted for you :-D

im still going with my statement yesterday 300p+ by the end of play tomorrow, today was a the biggest professional shake down ive been in, bought all the way down 244, 238, 232, 230, 224 and 208p filled my bag to the brim, going to be a good easter weekend )) GLA

@latpulldown, and you can bet this weekend there are going to be lots of positive articles written about POLY with the run up to 25th, if there was anyone left here thinking they had backed a donkey they would have sold out today. TOTP no1 As YAZZ sang, the only way is up^^^ :-D

@lodan i think they were referring to the operation of the business, the future funding is what is at risk with loans and bank access, so cutting the divi keeps pennies in the bank which is shoring up the company for the immediate future, its mildly ne4gative and some what already priced in but i still see the lemming jumping off the cliff, another buying op coming today, love this share ))

@Ramp you can read it as easily as the 'Daily Sport', lots of of bumps and curves with a very happy ending...

today could be the confirmation of bottom day, 3rd test today of 255 the other 2 being april 1st and april 7th, its holding nicely and waiting to unload like a coiled spring, if we finish above 275 today i would expect this to be above £3 by end of play thursday.

@Ray i made a nice 8p swing trade in less than 5 minutes an hour ago, another nice chunk off my holding

as ramp has said we are the buying zone, dont sell, if anything buy a few and day trade them and keep your main holding, ive been buying last 3 days and reducing my average, adding more andf more at these prices, dont let the short boys scare you we all have to make money, when they are here you know its time to buy ;-)
