This Thursday? Wrong
Next trading update will be March 2024 for H1 FY24 and full H1 results in April 2024
Written in 1/11/2023 full year results (albeit with an error in the years, should have read 2024 instead of 2023)
'ASOS will next update the market with a post-close H1 trading update in March 2023, followed by a full H1 results update in April 2023.'
DYOR and stop making stuff up
Just to clarify to investors that net debt is reducing. I read in one of the comments that is is concerning it is rising.
Net debt in interim results to Feb 2023 was 431.7. Now it stands at 319.5. This is a significant improvements and IMO a significant tailwind.
I will post more if I have any differing opinions about the rest of the results.
Be diligent when reading results. DYOR
Good luck all
Hi all
Thanks for healthy discussion and all the points you raised; I agree with almost all.
Just to clarify, for all those that became jumpy: if you re-read my initial post, I never compared ASOS to THG. I simply extrapolated that their increased earnings (which on the background of dropping revenue would mean increased prices for consumers) probably indicates increased consumer spending power.
This increased consumer spending is what I am hoping also to see in our results.
I am ASOS long. I dont hold THG shares
All the best
On that front, of course I have thoughts:
Barrick Gold (ABX.TO), the world's No. 2 gold miner, and Canadian rival B2Gold (BTO.TO) are among the biggest producers and have been expanding output in Mali, even amid frequent changes in government and rising insecurity.
So when Barrick, B2Gold, et al, start pulling out, then I will start worrying. Until then, you are just p i s s ing in the wind. :)
Get help.
All the very best
Johnny, again, a friendly piece of advice: get help.
You are clearly disappointed with the fiasco over on PREM, you were expecting a higher SP run today, but despite your wounds you found the courage to come over on the KOD board to post your negativity! Un-real
I suggest maybe going back to the PREM board to lick your wounds?
West, you are very kind thank you.
Regarding the target: I hope we reach back to £18 and I would be elated. But the £10 takeover offer from the Turks has made me realise that this might taken out before that.
So I think its more likely than not that we will be bought out before we reach £18. In my head the percentages for a TO are 65-35%. So twice more likely to be bought out before my target price, than not.
If not, and we stay the course, then I see us trading at around 10-14 P/E after 2-3 profitable trading updates. I only say 10-14 P/E because I do not see us ‘growing’ our earnings in those 12-15 months.
So if we keep our current 3% profit margin for next year (Aug ‘23 - Aug ‘24), which I think we will, because the CEO seems militant with the fat trimming, then on a revenue of 3.5bil we will be making 100mil profit - so 83p earnings per share so a share price of ~ £8.5 - £11.5.
IF (and thats a big IF), the militant attitude continues and we grow our earnings in Aug ‘24 - Aug ‘25 then we might see £15-24 share price
My tuppence
I have been investing here since 2021. Average is £18 so I am heavily under. So I am the first to really want those Fraser results to have a positive read-across to ASOS.
But, the Fraser results (which reported increased revenue and increased profits) were until April 2023 and that period has already been reported on by ASOS (with reducing revenue and slight increase in earnings, which in my opinion signifies that we have hopefully turned the corner).
So in summary, I do not think that the current Fraser results will ‘indicate’ anything for how ASOS has been trading in the so far unreported months of June and July.
I am just trying to remain composed and with my feet on the ground. :))

‘ I have made a decent profit on KOD and exited before the last month dive ‘
Sure you did Clueless. Sure you did. Let me guess, you bought in at its lowest and sold moments before it dipped from its highest, right?? Hahahahahah
