‘A load of tosh. Watch this get sold down by close. There no chance’.
Very positive day all considered. I remain quietly confident but no point getting overly excited until we see it in black and white. Hopefully not but the meeting may come and go without any news for us… (again I hope I’m wrong)
Bought some to start building a position. As someone else said, this reminds my exactly of the early He1 days when I was following from 6p onwards during the pandemic days. I’m hopeful for a similar path initially, just without the following sh*t show.
I also like the fact that we are fully funded and have a clear plan. It’s a nice change for an AIM stock
Ilka- my personal opinion (what do I know though) is that the crux of the issue is that Tang can’t know for sure that approval will be granted. The BoG moves out its own pace. So raising now seems sensible enough given we are up a lot over the next few months.
I also think mates rates placing is not an unrealistic assumption either
Morning all. Invested here many moons ago but catching up on more recent events.
To confirm, we are awaiting JV ministerial approval by 30th April? (Assuming that doesn’t slip). That is the main short term catalyst, correct?
Leemat from a few weeks ago on the 88e board.

It takes a lot to say this .....
but i too am a gambler and not and investor.
You make a very good point redbeardoil2.
I want to give my family the best in life like most, i know nothing much about investing and just follow these forums with the hope of finding knowledgeable people like you olderwiser and redbeardoil2 who can make a case for me parting with my money or not’
A quick scan and not a single positive comment on anything . I think he’s just a wind up tbf
Duster - my gut tells me that if they can’t get it done this time around then it might goodnight for GCM (in its current form anyway). Funding gives us a while to see this particular proposal through.
If it’s not approved then it’s basically a waiting game for Hasina to go, and again, I don’t know what GCM would look like at that point in time
I just see it in very simple terms: I don’t have a crystal ball and the risk of selling out ahead of the raise (with the intention of buying back in) is too great given positive news could drop any time.
So I’ll keep my shares and look to top up again if the placing price warrants it! No point betting overly hung up on a share anyway, we just need to be patient and see what happens
Tbf owl, why stop at £13 if every price target is valid?
I’m cautiously optimistic and waiting to see what transpires here but I think we need to be realistic - even that could be incredibly profitable for us! Let’s get approval (or the raise out the way first) and then go from there
Benzinio - it’s also interesting that bar a few names I recognise, there seems to be a full new wave of investors spouting the same old stuff as I was a couple of months ago haha
I think the long term potential is good but I have little to no faith in Lorna and her comms (and I say this as someone who got lucky the last pump in feb )
100% duster. And I think GCM are acutely aware of that:
GCM is closely monitoring the situation and is looking forward to holding discussions with the Government and working through its Phulbari Coal and Power Project ("the Project") Proposal, including the modality for state participation as a partner in the Project.
Looks like if we do get the go ahead we’ll get a very small slice of a very large pie. That would be good enough for us
