MMs. Got to love them (not).
RNS sounds promising, I was a bit worried after EVR decided not to post their results last week (although I think it's a sensible position for them to take given the nonsensical media witchhunt against any positive news they share). Look forward to markets opening and to the Investor Day event later this morning. GLA.
Yes. Over the longer-term. New to this - beginners luck :)
@Swampmonster oh right, they closed local offices. Look forward to RNS confirming new auditors. Have a good day all.
Can we assume from the RNS that Deloitte's Russian and Belarus firms who seperated from Deloitte LLP will now be responsible for auditing?
Good luck to you. I'm holding and waiting for webinar on 25th April, as per RNS this morning.
On a different not, how seriously should broker ratings be taken? Thanks in advance.
Worth speaking to your accountants re: losses. Heard back from mine. Remain optimistic, however. It's going to take years to get alternative gas/oil sources and supplies onto the grid - many countries will remain dependent on Russia in the meantime, creating disagreement about the level of sanctions post-conflict. Our FCO is determined to impose maximum sanctions as the game plan now seems to be to create chaos in Russia and remove Putin from within. Not verified, just my opinion. Have a good day all.
"It’s a great opportunity to use market makers rather than be used by them".
:)
Filtered. Have a good day all.
Okay got it thanks
@WhiteNight keep an eye on POLY Moex April 1st is the first day back for short sellers in Russia and also foreign holders are allowed to sell from today.
I'm holding firm. Hope this helps.
@grimboys - re personal attacks. Agree. We are owners of this company and our posts should reflect this. Head to Twitter for abuse ;)
Thanks for the summary @vic1234
Fellow newbies...
New to trading (12 months) and learning on the job.
By no means an expert in any area but IMO the SP of POLY and other companies I've invested in over this time has had little bearing on actual performance/fundamentals or future prospects of the business. Emotional response to politcal and economic headlines/day trader strategies/short selling/mm manipulation (this is the most annoying one!) seems to be the order of the day.
Played it cautious last year to get my head around it all and had a few small wins, jumped in deeper with POLY and EVR based on last year's learnings and loving the experience! Of course it could all go horribly wrong but given the destruction in Ukraine and Russian casualties, does money matter anyway?
My advice to fellow newbies as repeated by others already, only invest what you can afford to lose and don't worry if you do lose as valuable lessons will be had along the way for your next investment.

Update appreciated.
Re: Liquidity & net debt
"Lending from Russian banks is available in RUB only" could become problematic.
Would be great to hear other views on this.
@OracleofOldham
Agree 100% on domestic issues but it's different with foreign policy and in midst of war, imho. I'm sure everyone will be on their case once this is over.

Re article link / seized yacht
"The government later clarified that the owner of the vessel is not currently subject to UK sanctions".
So basically theft? Obviously, we all stand by our govt come what may but the actions and quotes reported in this article do not show us in the best light.
Polymental RNS out this morning. Company restructure under consideration. Sounds promising.
Wow, that's crazy.
This would be a great outcome for Ukraine and for Russia, who desperately need to distance themselves from this war for all of our sakes.
