yes ohmarko, exactly the same as me. you made some money, not enough, never enough. lets try to be Zen. calm.....
I meant Ive held since Feb 2020, not 19. typo.
Hello. Im just putting in my ten pence worth. I have been an avid reader of this board, but rarely post. I thought the weekly price guesstimate thing a total waste of time. And i have seen a slow transfer of posters on this board from the trader brigade to the long term holder brigade. (mostly, as i see it)
I have held from Feb 19 and kept buying and buying, so my average got lower and lower. At one point i was average 270. But fear and poor trading got to me to average of 286. I sold out last week @ 317. on a value size of a decent flat. I am not a natural trader and i found the stress hard at times to cope with given i have the funds mentally allocated for a new project. So ive missed out on a fair chunk of profit from 317 to 330. But ive turned a 50k loss into a 50k profit. Ill keep an eye out, i may be back. Keep up all the messages- the good the bad and the ugly....
Mr Notgot a clue, im with you. I have been in about a year, and my average was 280. i got out 100 percent today @ 310 and banked all my profit. i just got tired of waiting for a major breakthrough. i might get back in, but the volatility bemuses me. im not a schmuck (sone say). some claim a total disconnect with the FTSE, quad witching, POO or any other reasonable measure. others disagree- im with the camp that says value will always show itself eventually. but im also in the camp that says there is so much volatility that the fog is really severe sometimes. All the best to all.
Morning, You could take 'only 3 sub £3' as a positive. Or else you could take it as a random selection of LSE posters the majority of whom are on here because they are bullish.
Myself, I do like a caitlin Boooooom.
Myself, very dissapointed as i had set a mental £3.50 for september which doenst seem likely.
Have a good weeek, all
Caitlin??? Boom??
Caitlin?? Bottom??
It's lovely to see ceders tacit and geng on here.
These guys know what they are about even if I can't always translate their brief comments.
I've been invested here for about 6 months. I watched the sp rise, I watched it fall... . A made a big paper gain,,,, and it dissolved into nothing. I'm out now because I want to preserve my capital. The volatility is just way more than I expected,,,, but I'll come back in if I can figure out if we are at the bottom here
what is all this talk about results day.
If a load of amateurs on a bulleting board have made back of fag packet calculations of profit and cash flow, havent the oil trader and share trader experts done it 10 times better and are ten times ahead of us? that makes this sudden fall even scarier for me.
thank you Peter H1. i suppose its a personal position because i am so overweight here, and im getting ready to move on with my life.... im not a natural share trader, i have a very significant investment (277ave) and im probably all out at 360 ish or next few months anyway, as i have other plans............ lets hope it reaches that- but really ive no idea- other than my own hope and logic.

Hi guys, I'm an avid reader but occasional poster here.
Some were asking about investment strategy. I'm definitely treating BP as a recovery play. I'm mostly a property investor , but shoved some spare cash into BP in February 2020 before I went on holiday to argentina. When I returned to London the share price had crashed and the world was never the same again. So I kept buying BP and luckily disposed of a few properties such that my investment is now 10 times what I started at. I've bought at everything from 5.11 down to 1.98 and my average is now 2.74.
As a reluctant trader I've learnt a lot on this board. 3.20 was a great psychological barrier to see breached for the third time on the upward trend last few weeks.
I'm guessing we will permanently breach 3.20 on an upward trend in next few weeks.
And how long am I holding for? I don't really know.... I do see 3.50 here in short order and 4.00 by Christmas. I'll be pleased with that. I'll probably stay until I see a property I can't resist and get back to what I know better.
Thanks for all the posts and as I've learnt to understand, GLA
Hello all,
I understand and it makes sense that if dividend cut by half, then share price might follow suit. I understand that argument. BUT the value of the assets held by BP has not fundamentally dropped? Its value extraction might be somewhat delayed by lack of demand/ covid. But i think there is a middle value still to reach...... Barclays and Goldman sachs apparently think so. Do they misunderstand the scenario?
I'm enjoying all the posts here including the guess the share price sweepstake.
I participated last time and was totally underwhelmed.
I've been studying this particular share for 6 months now, intensely and seriously given the size of my investment.
I'm not submitting a value this time around..... I don't feel anywhere near knowledge enough.
Or perhaps I've learned exactly enough, and that qualifies me to have no clue.....
My worst investment ever= naturally I'm not a share trader, I'm an entrepreneur mostly in property.
I went into business with a chap- younger and less experienced than me but with bundles of enthusiasm and energy.
Little did I realise he was bi polar and after I'd seen the manic phase, I saw the head in sand phase and I couldn't dig us both out.
I lost 50k, but actually I felt sorry for him. What he had set up was Brilliant, I think he lost everything. I just lost my initial investment.
I read all these broker views and target prices with interest. Over what time period are these views and targets? Are they for 31st December in any year? Or within 12 months? Or just a view of 'at some future point '. Thanks to all contributors.....
COP 27th April £3.33.
That's my punt
i was trying to make sense of the share buyback numbers or possibilities.
