Just came across this interesting article, I was surprised Helium ,Neon and the rare 3 helium isotope also found in hot springs in neighbouring countries Zambia ,Malawi and Botswana but the highest values/concentration found are in Tanzania due to the volcanoes around Rukwa.

You're right Dai, I just checked one of the earlier interviews and DM did say to this effect that the wells will be drilled with 8.5 inch bit as production wells and be completed ready for when the modular helium refining unit is up and running and then brought into production.

Keith, would I be correct in saying that Tai 3 will be a potential production well considering they will be using 8"+ casing this time?.

Dai , I'm no drilling expert either but you're analysis looks correct. I suspected they got the drilling mud weights wrong which caused the washouts and damaged the well, classic and common mistake made by many a driller but Mitchell's should've known better. With the addition of new staff/Geo's on board(Kai Gruschwitz and Nigel Friend), hopefully this time they'll get it right.

Would be perfect for drilling through the Karoo red sandstone at Tai. Also has a retrieval system whereby its impossible to lose the drill bit in the well so no repeat of last year!.

Just relistened to the recent Directors Talk interview and the only specs he gave is that it's a 100 ton, 950 HP rig and its in some rig yard undergoing inspection somewhere in East Africa, what a joke,that really narrows it down,so don't know if its this particular model Sakson rig.

Hi all, just a question regarding the drill rig for the Chikumbi well November 2022 - is the drill rig going to Helium One first ? as they are planning to drill in September. I would appreciate any help/info on this.
