Ha ha. Anyone remember the Lloy bubble???
Funny old game this. Kick one and they all limp and no one can tell which one has a bruise and the excuse for limping.
Looks like you made the right call then ali. Unlike me. I bought a few more a couple of days ago thinking the end of the falling was close. It looks like I was wrong. Maybe the end of the BESS story is closer. On the other hand it could be the survival of the fittest and if so Im backing GSF
Good man. Ive been trying to find a reason for the slump for the past 3 feckin years and all I can find is reasons why it shouldnt have. Maybe I should do like Mr Buffet and think in terms of 20 year periods. Lets see how far we go tomorrow - is 62 the ATL to date? Hope their batteries dont lose their charge quite as fast.
Small article in City wire this am. Chap from Barenberg basically saying that IBST is fancied but until things pick up which wont be before 2025 there are better picks in the building sector in the fitting out area such as Howdens and Polypipe.
Yep. Weve pretty much lost all the ground we made up since early November. Very disappointing after the heavy falls previously and the hope that we were moving away from the lows at last.
I like this para
Further declines could be in store this year but thereafter Ibstock's fortunes are expected to recover at pace, with Hudson targeting £600 million of revenues by 2026 and a substantial rebound in profits.
I have faith and have kept building slowly. I reckon/hope this could be the last year to build at the best price. I have a sneaking suspicion that there will be a housing boom in the not too distant. The one that led us out of recession in the 60's was massive.
Is it someone who tells people they should be buying shares instead of posting a comment?
Charlie
Another strange comment. Are you buying shares if not on here. Is there nothing in between for you? If you buy shares so often you must be the original Big Time Charlie
Charlie
IMO thats close to an oxymoron because this board are. You are right Happy
Clued
I think everyone is aware of that - its been made clear in all the reports. It would be interesting to see the breakdown and know the reasons. Also I would like an explanation of why this has taken 5 months - it obviously wasnt a case of love at first sight - there must have been lots of hesitation from the board and maybe the instis werent enamoured either but simply decided they needed to DO SOMETHING. It may also indicate some disagreement between the Oil and Wind factions amongst them. Either way its obviously not a unanimous decision
Jezoo
Thats a fair comment because this appointment tells us a lot about the quality of the board. Dullards the lot.
There is obviously no outpouring of enthusiasm. The fact that its taken so long to make the decision says a lot. Hes a dullard. As Scruff on ADVFN says he could be similar to Sunak and thats not going well
Difficult to judge which are truly buys and sells. Frequently little correlation.
I have to admit that I'm getting seriously worried about the future of the LSE. Its been down I think every day bar one since Christmas Eve. A sustained steady drip down eventually becomes difficult to pull back without a series of good news and there doesnt seem to be much on the horizon. Worrying and depressing.
It is in some areas - and growing
No3 has always been my number one worry - though if a competing technology appears I suppose there is nothing to stop GSF adapting other I suppose than patents
End of which year? People been saying that for at least the last 5
Little evidence of it today
Its a long time since I could understand why people got animated about quite a lot of divis - not just here. 5% is hardly anything to get excited about. PHNX are paying me 12% and MNG 11% and I have quite a few others over 8%. Even my Virgin ISA is paying 5.5% and as you say with no threat to my capital. On top of which oil in general is in long term decline and not politically in favour. Not a great story.
Brave chaps topping up. The last couple of months dont bode well for results
