Firstly NEX's takeover of Stagecoach fell through because another company came along and gave a higher price.
And now the fact it's two separate suitors after GOG shows there the sector is in demand for potential takeovers.
The stagecoach takeover falling through actually helps make NEX a more likely takeover target IMO.
Looks like GOG have an offer of £15 on the table and a potential bidding war could bring it up higher.
Futures are looking up so might get a nice rise today.
Don't worry J, I don't believe in Jinxes.
Always good to bank profits but GOG said they have received two separate takeover approaches so there is a very good chance it will go through.
Nice bounce back for NEX from 200p to 224p.
Seems to be a lot of buying going on. Momentum may have changed for NEX.
Could get 30% with a bidding war.
I'll be happy with £3.
Cheers
We are just last because we are the biggest.
But we should be NEXT
"(Sharecast News) - Go-Ahead surged on Monday after the transport operator said it had received two separate takeover approaches".
With two offers on the table for GOG, the loser might well look at NEX :o)
Is they any chance National Express could also get an offer?
GOG was around £5.40 on March 8th and just over £10 on 31st May.
Now over £14 with the potential takeover.
NEX was around £1.90 on March 8th and £265 on 31st May.
Yes NEX has had a bad week (4th biggest faller on the FTSE All Share over the last 7 days) but the potential upside is great.
Great news Bus.
I was wondering what was going on.
Fingers crossed NEX is next.
Wow, we are up on the day.
I wonder what is going on?
Congratulations J and Carrington.
Every cloud has a silver lining.
Let's keep this thread positive.
The weather is meant to get a lot warmer this week.
It's all happening at 1:30 today.
J, I don't use this site for trading so can't see any trading view on here.
The average percentage of most stocks traded on an average day would be well under 0.5%.
Have a look at average NEX volume here:
https://uk.advfn.com/stock-market/london/national-express-NEX/financials
This has been a busy week with an average above 2million but usually it's bellow 2 million.
J, where are you looking?
https://www.lse.co.uk/share-fundamentals.asp?shareprice=NEX&share=National-Express
?
Poker's numbers are right.
Yesterday had about 2million traded and the two days before that 4m.
Under 800K traded so far today.
It's not the number of shares traded that effect the price, it's the price buyers are happy to pay and the price sellers are happy to (or forced to) sell at.
I don't believe you J, you already told everyone your plan.
I've seen about 10 chunks of about 13,800+ sold between 8:54 and 8.59.
You've really hammered NEX this morning.
