Rolls-Royce SMR named ‘Star Employer’ by Investing in Ethnicity.
We believe that to develop and deliver our innovative Rolls-Royce SMR power station, we must attract and retain a diverse range of talent. To drive our ethnicity agenda forward, in March, we became a member of Investing in Ethnicity. A significant benefit of our membership is the option to enter the Maturity Matrix, an opportunity for independent external benchmarking of our progress on ethnic inclusion.
Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager, Greg Turner-Smart, explains: “It feels appropriate that we should receive these results in Black History Month, and they are very positive results. Star Employer is halfway to the highest level of accreditation available from Investing in Ethnicity, and it demonstrates that, in a relatively short space of time, we have put in place some strong foundations from which we can build. It’s been a real team effort to get this far, so congratulations to everyone that has played a part.”
Our investing in ethnicity doesn’t stop here. Later this month, Rolls-Royce SMR employees will hear about the Equity Development Programme that we’re excited to be creating with Utopia - A Culture Change Business, a bespoke offering that will recognise and address the specific progression-related challenges faced by colleagues from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
