Porto de Santana: SVS advises on suspension of passenger transport from the 14th
SVS agents oversee boarding and disembarking at the port of Santana, verifying compliance with life protection measures.
Agents of the Health Surveillance Superintendence (SVS) are carrying out periodic inspection on vessels in the Port of Santana and in the agencies that sell tickets, with the objective of verifying the compliance with the life protection measures that are in force and aim to stop the advance of the covd-19 in the state. In addition, the agents advise the river transport companies on the suspension of the passenger transport service as of next Sunday, 14, as determined by a state decree.
During inspections, agents have observed numerous cases of non-compliance with protection measures, both by passengers and by port, vessel and agency workers. Therefore, everyone is instructed to adopt the use of a mask, social distance and hygiene.
During work, the passenger's temperature is checked and the transport conditions are checked during trips, that is, if there is compliance with social distance and adequate hygiene. On average, two vessels are inspected per day, in addition to the branches.
According to Decree 0775/21, waterway passenger transportation will be suspended as of March 14, with only cargo transportation remaining.
“Inspections take place permanently at the port of Santana. However, the decree of the State Government determines the suspension of passenger transport as of the 14th. We will count on the support of the security forces to inspect and comply with this measure. This is yet another life protection action. We have to avoid agglomerations and an intense flow of people to break the transmission of the virus ”, said the superintendent of Health Surveillance, Dorinaldo Malafaia.
