Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Definitely going to this. Well done for getting this back off the starting block thedoors and I will attend with Lady Mush. Good spot as well, being just off the M5 junction.
Nah not really zoros. Just fanciful thinking really born out of the frustration of feeling 'manipulated' by stuff outside of the extent and quality of the gold field being uncovered.
It's an interesting premise and I haven't got a clue whether it is possible or not. Can Greatland create an MRE, as the junior partner in the arrangement, on the strength of drilling results conducted by and made public by the 'senior' partner?
How thrilling if Greatland could publish this juicy uplifted figure and effectively say, "There you are mate, prove otherwise!" It seems too dramatic. Too 'Hollywood' Be great though!
I'm not getting into the argument between you guys, nor siding but you've got to admit that expression from the prof is funny:
"Excellent. If you have nothing useful to say I will welcome your saying of nothing."
Reminds me of that old Monty Python sketch where a group of learned writers and poets are all trying to 'out-expression' one another. :)
I'm sure we can make it busier Dillon and it provides another platform for the sharing of progress maybe a little differently from this site and telegram.
1100 members Dillon of the Facebook group. You have to apply to become a member. I have just applied and erhem...of course, am bound to get in.
Thanks Hydro.
Is it just me who feels a deep sense of satisfaction to see these two figures:
* 71.5% held directly by PIS
10% Managed PI money *
I don't know, but something 'power to the people' about it. We put our money in; pension pots, granny's inheritance money, previously-untouched building society accounts, the kids 'future' isa dosh and even the loose change in that old piggy bank with the broken ear.
I never felt a greater sense of galvanised and motivated shareholder drive than I have over the last couple of days of trading. It's all quite uplifting!

And there's the rub. Nada is the answer other than an annoying 'royalty' that has to be paid for years and years. I've always felt that it would be an arrangement that would needle NCM. Somehow or another they will want us away. How is open to conjecture!
Exactly TT. That old chestnut keeps popping up on the board.
I agree JB. It's only a target date don't you think it might have been good manners to let your JV partner know you you will not be issuing it? The key point is that SD was surprised it had not been issued.
I'm not one for conspiracy theories but why wouldn't SB have given SD the nod on the information missing from the half yearly report (in so far as an mre would be presented as a forerunner to the 5% offer)?
Just one quick phone call. Twenty seconds long would have achieved that.
I've lifted this from the RNS in December:
*Newcrest has issued a notice to Greatland informing it that Newcrest would like to begin the process under the joint venture agreement to seek to agree the option exercise price in the period to mid-February 2022.*
Have I missed something in the more recent announcements? It could arrive later today and when does mid-February become late February?
Hi antigua, Yes that is not an unlikely scenario, sadly.
SB needs to go public on this matter very soon. Odd that we should see an article immediately before the results drawing attention to his 'robust' management style. Followed, of course, with all the usual virtue signalling 'lessons will be learnt' bs.
Two days later....bah.
The main take, for me , is not that NCM consider the MRE2 as unnecessary for the 5% offer but that SD was clearly unaware of it as their preferred method.
There are 101 mini conclusions that we can draw from that but fundamentally, singing off different hymn sheets ain't a great start to the service!
Why, is crucial to our understanding of this join venture and how both parties see their roles within it.
wasred..Europa League . Barca v Napoli. Oddly one player had lots of 'golden' opportunities but failed to advance the score. Hmmm...now where have I seen that elsewhere recently???
Trying to catch up on this after having watched the football and the proactive interview on record. The premise seems to be that SD was surprised that SB didn't have the updated drilling figures included in last night's report. Cue the theory that communication between the two ceos is therefore cold. Add that JPM have dubious interests all round and finally that we can expect a 25p buyout offer.
I should have stuck to the football. :)
Isn't the problem Stebol, that this half yearly report was always assumed by many of us to be the vehicle through which NCM would present the mre2 and 5% offer.
Clearly it isn't but I do not see any negativity in it. The report is simply not relevant to us as far as our needs for the 5% offer.
That's imo.
While the shorters have their borrowed shares (over 40 million at present) and the daily trading figure remains subdued, they can deploy these to keep a lid on the share price. But one day, something could happen that will totally screw them. Something that they hadn't considered or to which had paid insufficient regard. Could be a takeover bid at 50p per share. Could be a juicy dividend announcement. Who knows?
In any case, there is a hard core of investors who are not prepared to let go of their golden tickets because the future promise here is exciting, multi-factorial (thanks Shaun ..borrowed that one) and very profitable indeed.
I'm on my fifth day. Tired and weary. Lost my taste buds now. However, I've not lost my taste for a little guess on MRE2. I am going 9.2m au equiv. Come on GGP!!
Exactly! Shaun has hardly been able to stop smiling of late and he is hardly likely to have agreed to this spot if the presentation was about his pending 'transfer' to a redundant Tasmanian salt mine.
Nah, we are all going to be 'previously chuffed' before 6pm tomorrow imvho.
Good podcast that and a reminder, yet again, of the importance of the discoveries outside of Havieron and the value of copper to bottom line. Worth a good listen from 10m in for the GGP stuff. Thanks Paddy, for the link.
