First Half Results The Company intends to release its financial results for the period ended 30 June 2011 on 23 August 2011. Supportive market conditions and the successful execution of a number of contracts have driven a strong increase in revenue compared to the first half of 2010. The Company expects to report revenue of approximately $58 million for the half year, representing an increase of over 100% year-on-year, with net earnings towards the top end of markets expectations despite the ongoing fluctuations with currency exchanges and cost pressures on the business. The Company is continuing to see improving contract pricing in the second quarter which is expected to continue to drive revenue in the second half of 2011. The Company has continued to invest in growth over the 1st half of the year, purchasing a further 4 rigs with another 2 due for delivery early in the third quarter of 2011. Furthermore, we have completed significant upgrades & rebuilds on 3 of the existing rigs in addition to safety improvements on a number of rigs to continue the Company's drive for best practice standards in safety.

Overview The Company began the year well positioned, having experienced a significant expansion in 2010, benefiting from the rapidly improving demand environment combined with a stronger balance sheet after the IPO in June 2010. The enlarged fleet, improving utilisation rates and higher average revenue per operating rig ("ARPOR") have all contributed to a record revenue performance for the first half. The Company currently expects revenues of approximately US$58mn, representing a 100% increase on the same period to 30 June 2010 (2010: US$28.7m). Capital Drilling has continued to invest in growth in 2011 and has added a further four rigs to the fleet in the first half with a further two due for delivery early in the third quarter of 2011. Growth rates remain consistent with the long term average for the Group, and Capital Drilling is pleased to report that it has locked in its current rig supply requirements for the balance of 2011. The delivery of new rigs is in anticipation of near term future contract wins. The Company is currently in advanced stages of discussion and negotiation on a number of new contracts which are expected to add to the recently announced significant contract wins, including: · Development drilling for BHP Billiton in Chile · Development drilling for Allied Gold in the Solomon Islands · Development drilling for Kinross Gold in Mauritania · Exploration drilling for BHP Billiton in Ethiopia · Development drilling for Kinross Gold in Ghana These recent contracts wins, combined with the Company's strong contractual pipeline, emphasises the continuing strong demand for our services. Market conditions remain favourable with record levels of commodity prices and capital raising activity. Both utilisation rates and ARPOR have continued to improve in the second quarter.

US$3.2 Million Purchase Order - Revelar Free Radical Assay Akers Biosciences, Inc. (AIM:AKR), a leading designer and manufacturer of rapid diagnostic screening and testing products, has secured a purchase order totaling US$3,242,200 to manufacture and supply Revelar breath tubes to Pulse Health, LLC under the Company's Supply Agreement, as announced on 11 April 2011. This is the first purchase order under the Supply Agreement and manufacturing will commence immediately, from ABI's New Jersey facility, with the majority of this order expected to be fulfilled during 2011. Revelar provides the first accurate measurement system that both detects and measures aldehydes in exhaled breath. Aldehydes are known to be indicators of free radical activity that are thought to negatively impact or damage healthy cells throughout the human body. External factors, such as diet, activity, stress, chemicals and pollutants cause the body to produce excess free radicals that damage healthy cells. Studies show this may lead to heart disease, cancer and rapid aging. Millions of people in the developed world are consuming antioxidant supplements to counteract this process but neither patients, nor healthcare practitioners, have previously been able to accurately and efficiently determine whether a regime is working to improve patient health. Senior ups first half guidance By Benjamin Chiou Date: Wednesday 29 Jun 2011 LONDON (ShareCast) - Shares in Senior jumped 8% on Wednesday morning after the group said it expects pre-tax profit for the six months ended 30 June to be ahead of previous expectations, driven by the recovery in the truck markets and increased production in its Aerospace Division. The group - which provides engineered products for the aerospace, defence, land vehicle and energy markets - said that first half revenues will be "marginally higher than anticipated", helped partly by a stronger global truck market, benefiting Senior's North American and German Flexonics operations. Senior's Aerospace Division is also trading well as a result of the acquisition of Damar Aerosystems in March and increased demand for the C130J military transport aircraft and the Boeing 787. First half operating margins are expected to be ahead of those last year. "The large commercial aerospace industry is anticipated to be strong for a number of years with Boeing and Airbus increasing build rates and the Boeing 787 due to be delivered to customers starting in the third quarter of this year," Senior said. However, the £15.3m Damar acquisition means that net debt will be slightly higher than the £63.7m level reported at the end of 2010. While demand has been broadly in line with expectations, the group highlighted that the European car market has been slightly weaker. "Whilst the macro economic outlook remains uncertain, the Group's industrial businesses are well positioned to benefit from growth in their end markets when this occurs."

It may be involved in big projects such as the the Shard in London but WSP saw its shares suffer a sharp decline after a profit warning ahead of next month’s half-yearly results. The engineering consultant said it now expected performance for 2011 to be worse than the year before, blaming a drop in public-sector spending in the UK that has particularly hurt its transportation unit. The fact that WSP’s operations outside of the UK provide nearly two-thirds of revenues is positive, but, as Espirito Santo analysts note, the group “does not have sufficient exposure to areas of spend which are currently showing recovery, such as Middle East infrastructure and UK regulated spend”. The Independent says sell.

Restaurant Group owns almost 400 outlets, including names such as Frankie and Benny’s, Garfunkel’s and Chiquito, which are popular with the younger crowd. The shares have come back sharply over the past couple of months, closing at 294½p after touching 335p at the end of May. Douglas Jack from Numis Securities thinks that recent like-for-like sales are on the up; bad weather encourages people into leisure parks, where the outlets are, and half them are near cinemas, where attendance is up. Others are at London airports, where footfall is also rising. The shares are not cheap, on about 13 times’ earnings, but could be worth picking up for the longer term, suggests the Times.

Thus far, we’ve been content to hold Millennium & Copthorne. Our stance, which was outlined late last year, was down to the surge in the hotelier’s share price in the months before our note. The company was doing well, but the shares appeared to reflect much of that performance and, more importantly, the positive outlook. Since then, things have cooled down. In fact, if you pull up the price at the beginning of this year and compare it to current levels, you’ll notice that the stock is down sharply over last six months or so. However, the hotels’ recovery story remains intact, with updates from peers and industry indicators all pointing to continued gains for the sector, according to the Independent, which recommends a buy.

After Li Ka-shing, the Hong Kong-based businessman, said on Monday that he might bid for Northumbrian Water, all the water companies’ share prices headed north in the expectation that his approach would not be the last. Analysts are now trying to work out what Mr Li might be prepared to pay. The shares, at their current price, yield 3.7 per cent. Analysts’ views hinge on the premium Mr Li is prepared to pay to the regulatory asset value, the value of the capital employed in the regulated part of the business. There is no certainty of an offer; anyone sitting on a large gain should consider taking profits. Anyone keen on a gamble should stay in, recommends the Times.
