Cobham Awarded $65 Million Contract for Boeing Wideband Global SATCOM Satellite Components Cobham has been awarded a $65 million contract to supply electronic systems to Boeing's Wideband Global SATCOM satellite programme. The contract funds production on three satellite flight sets, with additional options for three more sets. Cobham Defence Electronics in Lowell, Massachusetts will supply 1000 modules for the phased array antennas on each satellite. The modules are made up of a complex power amplifier, beamformer and receive amplifier modules. The modules allow the satellite to transmit and receive communications.

Acquisition of Mandals AS & Mandals Technology AS ("Mandals") Fenner is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Fenner Norway AS, has today exchanged contracts to purchase 100% of the share capital of Mandals, a privately owned group of companies based in Norway and Sweden. Mandals is a manufacturer of innovative lay flat and specialty hoses for use in demanding applications and of circular looms for the manufacture of the woven fabric used in the production of hoses. It is an acknowledged market leader in its industry, with products sold around the world. The acquisition builds on the expertise of Fenner's Advanced Engineered Products Division ("AEP"), providing performance critical applications to the agricultural, infrastructure, potable water and oil and gas markets. The audited value of the gross assets being acquired was NOK 91.3m (GBP 9.9m) as at 31 December 2011. The transaction is expected to complete in early September 2012.

The Group Finance Director of Brammer, an industrial engineering products distributor, purchased 104,091 shares in the company just one week after the firm admitted a slowdown in revenue growth. Paul Thwaite bought the shares for 229.00p a piece for a total of £238,368, leaving him with just over one million shares in the company, representing 0.8998% of the issued share capital. Seven days prior to this the firm reported that pre-tax profit leapt 19.6% to £17.1m in the first half of 2012 (2011: £14.3m) on record revenues of £331.1m, 20.3% higher than the £275.2m achieved the previous year.

Valuation: Fair value now 398p per share Removing the CytoFab contribution and updating the valuation to reflect the Benefix windfall and using FY13 year-end cash (£144m) suggests a valuation of £1.3bn or 398p per share. This compares with the previously published £1.4bn or 440p/share. Thus we consider BTG offers an attractive investment proposition, with the current share price offering 14% upside to a valuation that is supported by the DCF value of its core business activities and a low risk profile by biotech standards

Additionally the local authorities have agreed to offer a loan to the Company to enable Sorbic to start construction as soon as the details of the compensation package are finalised. It is anticipated that drawdown of this transitional loan will enable Sorbic to commence construction of the new factory before the onset of winter. Further update on Ulanqab City manufacturing facility Sorbic International plc (AIM:SORB), the third largest sorbates producer in China, today gives the following update on its manufacturing facility in Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia. As announced on 17 July 2012, the Company met with local authorities in Ulanqab City to discuss the effects on the Company of the proposed zone reclassification and the potential compensation plan that would be offered by the Ulanqab authorities. The Board is pleased to announce that negotiations have advanced significantly in relation to the potential compensation plan from the Ulanqab authorities. In addition to the overarching agreement that the Company will not suffer any financial loss as a result of the rezoning process, the following specific principles have been established: · As previously announced, the Company has been offered land on an adjacent site only 0.5 km away from its existing site. The land will be of approximately the same size as the site of the current facility and will be provided at no cost · The Company will receive compensation for the costs incurred in terms of construction, relocation, inflation and interest · In respect of the costs incurred in construction of the manufacturing facility, an independent valuer (acceptable to both parties) will be appointed to appraise the construction cost. The Company is concurrently obtaining third party quotes for the rebuilding of the facility which will be compared against the independent valuer's appraisal.
