Good to see some shareholders have bothered to contact Investor Relations and the Board. Hope some more holders here join in. The more pressure and heat applied to the board the better.

That really is just an anomaly TL. Mediclinic's SP as the bidder would most likely take another hit. Both have been savaged badly albeit.

I really do not see how the board in particular Ash and Watts can survive such a debacle. Would really be interested to hear how they have tried to explain turning down the £3 offer.

I am sure there are many medical doctors and professors with shares in Spire. They will be sure to be furious at the BOD. On a side note it is also half term in much of the country this week. Mr Mannion is an incompetent fool just like the BOD.

250p to 103p in under 3 months is not something that can just be batted away.

Been in this share for over a year and have to say IR led by Mr Mannion is very poor. Often no response at all.

One would hope they have also heeded our advice and spoken to the FCA re: the huge drop and why hedge funds opening a short automatically collapses the SP.

I believe Spire has spent up to £200M on building and furnishing their new hospitals in Nottingham and Manchester over the past 2 years. Their portfolio and assets are considerable with 40 hospitals across the UK, GP services and a specialist Cancer Centre. Tangible assets/property plant equipment is over £1Bn alone.

More to the point what absolute plonkers Mediclinic and their accountants were to increase their offer from 300p to 315p last year after 6 weeks of due diligence when it is really only worth 94p....

After all Spire has a growing number of Oncology patients including a specialist Oncology Centre in Bristol.

Those of you into pivot points - even the supports forecast by these calculations are being shot down day after day. Bizarre and brutal sell off in what should be the most defensive sector of all!

So short tracker is telling us Marshall Wace have reduced their position from 1.64% to 1.46% as of 16th October - again this is surprising given the carnage here. It was only Tuesday PM when this was hitting 130p. 16% down in 3 days. 32% down in one month. 56% down in <3 months.

Some larger trades today - top 3 totalling >£2M.
Can never trust the buy and sell data. Another quite astonishing anomaly of the market.

RSI wise this must be right at the top of the charts for most oversold stocks on the FTSE.

Directors chose to buy at 160p. Most average well over 200p as detailed yesterday but not choosing to add even at <110p? Strange. No way of knowing for sure but they just might be in a closed period - either that or they now think even 109p is not low enough just 10 months on from rejecting 315p. Incompetent idiots.

There has not been a single holdings RNS so I reckon Mediclinic are playing dirty and loaning their shares to these sharks.

Current liabilities £131M
Non-current liabilities £567M

Equity ratio 2.48

Total equity £1.03Bn

So total equity, tangible assets/PPE are all over £1Bn yet the current market cap is just £450M

Book price/NAV = 257p
Current share price 112p

Price:book ratio 0.4

Now lets write off say half the intangibles/goodwill figure as these can be a bit woolly - this still gives total equity of £771M and a book price of 192p.

Insane.

Not sure how this shameless bunch can show their face in public.

Turned down 315p last November and now sat at a third of this.

If they had any honour or shame they would resign immediately admitting they made a colossal mistake.
