All depends on when Elikhulu comes on stream then but a forward P/E of 5 is very low and suggests SP should be moving towards a more sensible 23p-24p in coming months which would give a P/E closer to 10 - which is still low.

Yes nice rise today of 8.6% but what about the brutal 30% fall from 310p to 220p? The NHS is in trouble and struggling to meet waiting times and targets. Even the biased BBC have admitted this today. More and more people are choosing to go private and this trend will continue. Day traders invested here will have made their 10% and will no doubt sell up and move on. oldbadger it appears you and I are looking at the bigger picture here. If you do sell up and a bid comes in (rumoured in the summer to be as high as 450p) you will only have yourself to blame. The rumours are not without substance IMO. Even if a bid does not arrive this is a highly defensive sector with peers like Mediclinic trading on P/E's of 20+ which means the SP here should be closer to 350p 5x normal volume today and buyers have returned with RSI jumping from 35 to 53. Catalysts in the near term include the new CEO starting end of this month and the dividend next month.

Peers are trading on P/E's of 20 or more. After the crash today this is trading on a P/E of 9.8 Something is not right here. All the brokers have targets around 6000p Now either the market is brutally shorting/manipulating this or the company has lied and is not being truthful about EPS of $5/share +/- has skeletons that have not been revealed yet to the average PI. Either way it is a disgrace. The fall today was due to a broker removing it as its 'top pick' - why that should cause a crash of >3% is a mystery!

A P/E of 10 for a large �40Bn global pharmaceutical company seems unusually low. Even at a P/E of 15 - same as GSK and AZN - the SP should be north of 5000p

Looks like some large �100K buys have gone through this morning hence the rise - they have been reported as sells by the computer but we all know the reporting is inaccurate.

I doubt anything will come of that londondan. Mediclinic issued a statement today saying Spire are hopeful of recovering some of the �27M in settlement costs via insurers.
