Chart wise I thought 3691p would hold up. After this I see support at 3639p and then 3613p which it hit in August. If that goes then its back to 2014 for 3570p. Using Zak Mir's methods and candles don't see this going below 3511p Shire was a good share to trade until recently. As for debt strange that it has taken the market 18 months to have any concerns? Like I said earlier 1.8x EBITDA or thereabouts should not be an issue IMO. Markets can't keep rising forever - I would consider taking a position in gold (PAF). Defensive stocks like Centrica (CNA) and NG should also do well.

20% rise [219p to 261p] in 9 days is not bad is it? On very little to no news which again highlights my point about the rogueness of the market. Only fair to highlight this even after a rise such as this. Note how despite the slide from 320p to 219p there has not been a single holdings RNS that shows a reduction in holding. I am still surprised no directors apart from the incoming CEO bought at 220p. The question who was selling around 220p remains and the sudden slide that morning to 218-219p was very bizarre.

'notgreedy' you seem to have taken an interest in this particular company. Are you shorting or looking to go long? Short term liabilities were $7.4Bn in the H1 report to end of June. EBITDA/operating profit will be approx $4Bn for 2017. That is 1.8x EBITDA and well within the target. The market seems to be overly bearish IMO - the Baxalta deal was struck 18 months ago and nothing has changed in relation to debt level. A very delayed over-reaction by the bipolar market at best.

Not sure what has gone on here today closing below 13p and down 7%. DOW has been on a very surprising run that will have to stop soon. Should see a move into safe haven stocks.

A small tiddly winks pharma company in Canada with a market cap of just $40M and annual revenue of $120M is having problems with debt and there has been a read across to Shire that has a market cap of $35Bn and annual revenue of $15Bn. Looks like Zak Mir's prediction of 260-280p short term was correct. Let's hope his other prediction of a bid in the 400-450p range is also accurate.

Well the special guru did not forecast a 20% fall in Merlin this week - in fact has it as 3 good signs and no warnings (!!) Nor did it call the 10% rise in Spire this week. Seems to have warning signals on nearly every share in fact.

From a technical perspective we are now well above the 30 day moving average. Volume again high today at 4x average.

I predict we could hit your 300p by Xmas - if we haven't already received an offer that is. Could see a drop tomorrow as day traders bail out. New CEO will most likely buy more shares here when he officially starts in 2 weeks.
