I am having to go way back to 2008 and the depths of the credit crunch! That's what makes this fall insane IMO. The economy is nothing like it was back in 2008 and Debenhams has a significant international presence where business is booming including a new store in Australia. In 2008 it fell from 65p to 32p before bouncing back to 54p in just one month! The absolute bottom was 23-24p in Dec 2008 when the FTSE 100 hit 3600 - it is now DOUBLE that! Like I said - madness.

Up 2.4% today so yes clearly some buying today. I find the RSI is far better than looking at buys and sells data which is often wrong. We should all be aware though that major institutions often release a holdings RNS days if not weeks after reducing stakes and a SP is rarely moved to such an extent by just PI's selling. It is just another part of the crooked market I'm afraid and PI's are often the very last to know what is going on behind the scenes.Time will tell.

Only fair that we comment on the SP reaction on a good day as well as bad. >7% rise today on the back of no news. The volatility for what should be a boring, pharmaceutical defensive share is totally out of order. It could easily swing 7% back down next week. Those of you quite new to the market are learning just how rogue and manipulated the stock market is. People will dispute it but it is clear as night and day. It is not a level playing field and the short sellers seem to hold all the cards.

Fruitster who do you reckon is selling at these prices? You can never trust the buys and sells data but 2M sold vs 4.7M bought today is quite a difference and the SP still fell 5% at one point? Dividend didn't put off the shorters either. They have 'special powers' clearly and are FCA immune?

A forward P/E of 10 is certainly very low. An RSI of 14 is again extremely oversold.

Holds a 21% stake here. Bought them at 66p according to the FT. What is he thinking now? 50% LOSS Why is he not averaging down or making an offer?

Boohoo has a P/E of 76 ! No typo. 76. Debenhams P/E of 5. Any mention of growth though and the market becomes manic and illogical. Just Eat for example is on a P/E of 80. BTG, Abcam, Hutchison P/E's of up to 100

It should not be all about which way a chart is pointing though! This is the problem with the market. People who do research buy and sell on fundamentals. Where is the bottom on your chart then? Book price, PE, PEG, Dividend yield and cover are fundamental.

It was only 2 months ago when this rose from 39p to 50p on the back of NO news in just 2 weeks.

I have said it before and will say it again. Get enough shorts together and they will push an SP down to stupid illogical levels ignoring fundamentals and the wider market. The short sellers/market seem to have decided Debenhams will be going bust. M&S, Next and other retailers can trade on 12x earnings but Debenhams is only allowed to trade at 5x earnings. They will push this down to 30-32p then buy in and enjoy the risk. Highly corrupt and rogue market. The FCA have been told many times about DEB.

H1 2017 Revenue £1,801M Vs £1,487M 2016 Gross Profit £275M Vs £182M 2016 EBITDA £121M Vs £70M 2016 Take out depreciation costs and derivative contract losses and you get approx 30p EPS and that's just for H1 Full year EPS around 60p gives a ridiculous adjusted P/E of just 4 now

The dividend is not at risk, Saga will still grow profits by 1-2% this year, annual profits are around £150M, the RSI is extremely low/oversold at 15. On top.of this the CEO has tried to call a bottom by buying £100K worth of shares at 138p I may be wrong but 135p-140p seems to be the bottom.

Terrible end to the day even with the ex-div. Down 1.5p and -11% in a day? Gold at $1251 - surely will bounce?

I reckon there has been a leak of bad news. RSI of 8 is far too low. Larger shareholders must have sold for this to happen - if true another one for the FCA to look into the useless buggers!

You seem very negative on this one. Any reason for that - heard something? Given you are here guess you are looking to buy in at a better price? What's your target? Technically this is massively oversold and given it is an all time low can see a bounce here when sellers stop and buyers return. Brokers so far positive with targets around 200p. May even see an upgrade or two at these prices.

I think we were both in Berendsen? Also Pets? Sold out before the take over offer in Berendsen. Not impossible for an offer to come in here with the share price at an all time low. It is barely trading above its book price at the moment.

Totally out of order for what should be a defensive boring share. Daily 5% swings just illustrate the state of the market at the moment. #rogue
