VEC has a strong pipeline with 7 new products in phase 3, no debt and <�100M in cash. VR315 awaited Another 13 new products launching from 2020 onwards. This drop is unwarranted IMO.

Perhaps most disconcerting is how a share can rise 86p to 130p in no time and for apparently no reason? Nearly a 50% jump in Jan for no reason? What does that say about our beloved regulated stock market?

I read somewhere these are left over shares/unfilled trades either buys or sells - basically market makers involved etc hence why you sometimes see one or two shares being bought or sold. Apparently 'nothing sinister or rogue'!

If you look at the data small sells are pushing the SP down today. Nothing large. There was actually a big buy this morning 08:27 79.89p 250,353 �200,000 Buy

RE: M&A - Would Batchelor and his chums want to give up their multi million pound salaries, bonuses, 'rewards' and cushy jobs though? Several instances in recent years where good offers were turned out for the reason above. Spire Healthcare only last November rejected a 315p offer - shares today down to 206p. Mothercare back in 2014 turned down close to 300p - now 18p (!!!) Premier Foods turned down 65-70p offer - now 40p Shareholders interests always come last - especially PI's. BOD considers them last.

Chances of that happening are ZERO!

Societe Generale obviously believe and they have put it out there for all to see!

No arsenal IR have responded but the response is basically the same - challenging and competitive environment. Customer numbers is key here. How many of the 3 million Saga customers have switched? One would think the over 50 age group would switch less but time will tell.

The total absence of even a technical or dead cat bounce is what's so mystifying here. More than 3 months of the SP being very tightly held. Even if we double the forecast profits fall next year to 10% that still leaves shares on a P/E of just 9. rxdav and jl - please forward your thoughts, concerns and comments to the BOD and CEO. 210p is a key support level. I'm afraid the Directors were guilty of looking after themselves/their own jobs when they rejected the 315p final offer. Shareholders always come last.

90p+ Barely trading above book value currently.

Spire is just another example of a share where the market makers have decided after 3 years it deserves a totally new rating. Instead of trading at more than 20x earnings as it has done since 2014 the MM's now believe this was wrong and it now only deserves to trade at 13x earnings. Who makes these decisions and 'controls' the market is the big question.

Well explained and makes you wonder why the market pays no attention to it pricing Shire at not even half of the target price. �30/share valuation for Haemophilia and ADHD businesses alone. The remaining businesses (internal medicine, ophthalmology + others) are basically being priced at zero by the market even though half the profits come from them. SocGen claimed Shire was poorly valued on consensus estimates due to concerns that its haemophilia and HAE franchises were not sustainable, leaving the firm unable to service its debts without its ADHD products, but its analysts didn't see eye-to-eye with the consensus. "We strongly disagree," said analysts, with its target price still averaging price multiples for forecast earnings from 2018to 2020 of �64 and a discounted cash flow basis of �86, but they trimmed the target price to reflect estimate changes. "Applying the 20x P/E Sanofi paid for Bioverativ would value Shire's haemophilia business at �20/share. We continue to value ADHD at �10/share.
