This may be a stupid question but if you are holding at market open on div day and sell your shares at market open do you actually qualify for the dividend?

Geng, you could say that about a large number of shares this week, its not sentiment in Barclays that has caused it or any other to drop recently.

Why shouldn’t they, as per the post below the big names are smashing out solid results.
Do you know something different?

And hopefully should continue to move up with the results due on the 28th .

serious question folks, will this hold up after the upcoming results?
i ask as recently after good results Persimmon, Taylor Wimpy, BARC and BOO all dipped on the day.
Conversely IAG reported a big (expected) loss today but its actually gone up by a few percent. I think that same happened for RR.
I'm no Einstein but it seems like madness and is impossible to predict.
I'm holding all of the above by the way.

Well i bought into Barclays for the first time today which i thought would be a wise move after the fall on Friday.
I really hope this dip is temporary!

Same here, i got loaded up with 3 more tranches of TW in anticipation of the news, am now in the res!
