Al-Ula’s dramatic natural landscape and longstanding passion for motorsports made it an ideal setting for Extreme E’s inaugural race when the competition launched last year for the first time. The off-road racing series is returning this year, kicking off with a race in the Saudi city of NEOM next month.
Location change
The new Saudi race will still encompass rugged and remote areas of the Kingdom’s deserts after organizers approved the location change. However, this time competitors will drive in the vicinity of NEOM, bringing the city to a whole new audience.
Climate awareness focus
Extreme E features electric SUVs powered by a pioneering hydrogen fuel cell technology, enabling them to be charged using zero-emission energy.
