I know its nit picking but why do reporters/commentators keep quoting the North Sea when all of Hurricanes oil fields are located in the " ATLANTIC OCEAN " .

Hello Bloobird, Belated Apologies for not spelling your poster name correctly and for my rude post, you are obviously technical minded with reference to Buoy race inferring Race Bearings, i have an Aerospace Engineering background so no sea legs. From reading the posts from Energy Voice today , i am so wide of the mark with reference to Solid Oil Platforms.looks like a fleet of FPSOs, personally would much prefer Solid Oil Platforms but hey- ho will go with the flow !!! not far to run for cover if they have too. Still not made my mind up with regard to Kerogen Intentions because as they say " he who says nothing has plenty to hide " ???

Hi Bluebird, 100% of oil rig personnel would rather be on a Solid Fixed Platform Rig than getting tossed around in an FPSO in a HURRICANE, i suggest you would be crazy and foolish if you would rather be on an FPSO than a Solid Fixed Platform Rig. Thank God you are not giving any technical advice to HUR.

Thanks Bobblicious for posting twitter comment which was aimed at doom merchants on BBs such as this, i also form the opinion Dr Trice has proved hook up but will keep that up his sleeve for now.
Investors need to realise that we are at Lancaster to vindicate the Field , and not to showcase our " SEAMANSHIP "skills in the most violent Gale Force Seas that the Atlantic offers. I fully expect this will be a regular ploy to run for safe haven even when its partly loaded with oil until the seas calm down around April when it can then stay on station for the summer, Aoka Mizu is the umbilical cord so why jeopardise it, at this present time its our most important asset we have to protect it by whatever means. Next Winter we will have an Oil Platform ( much, much safer ) and Aoka Mizu could be our supertanker for the transfer of oil so we dont have to pay horrendous costs for supertankers !!!. I dont think Kerogen will consider take over offers unless ludicrous money because by HUR becoming an oil producer they could make 10 times the money ( 5 Billion compared to 50 Billion over 25 years, circa figures for illustration ) i think that is what Dr Trice alluded to when he said the infamous quote about super majors " we will see ". If you look at Kerogens Portfolio most of them are Producers this seems to be there strategy for success, why change it here when we are at the finishing line, almost all the spade work has been done, only the icing to go on. And the good thing Spirit will have paid for it all ??? Savvy Business People Kerogen !!!!

Having read all the posts from experienced oil personnel, i come to the conclusion that the hook up was successful on Friday and they have simply decided to shelter from the storm. Why do i think hook up was a success because if it was not they would of headed for a repair yard already, because when the weather is more calm and they go back to the buoy they would have"egg on there faces " if they then encountered problems with the buoy, so they proved on Friday that they can hook up rather than look like fools when they return to Lancaster. I guess Dr Trice is having a good laugh at the panic on these boards knowing he has the last laugh !!!

P.S. For those who have doubt it is berthed currently at " CRY-MARTY " , for those like me with no worries it is Berthed at " Cromarty "

Hello Biff, " may the best man win " i know who that was aimed at !!!

Yesterday and todays activity by the FPSO smells strongly like Heath and Safety Procedures i.e. hook up/unhook no doubt fire drills,lifeboat drills,man/woman overboard drills, HSE Procedures now are so strict and time consuming .

The last Health and Safety Procedure the FPSO will have to pass is the safe use of the Heli-Pad for Emergency purposes such as the evacuation of ship personnel if they are very ill, Safe Crew Change Overs etc , as sources on this BB say Helicopter booked for this Monday cannot see an RNS till Tuesday but hope i am wrong ( usually am ). And finally things must be going smoothly with the FPSO or it would of headed for Port last night, like it has the past two months when there has been doubts.

Its all up to the Good Doctor to " DELIVER NOW " as we all wait patiently as we have done for the last Four and a Half Years, the Mountains been climbed just the Flag Pole to go on now. But as ever DYOR.

Surely if you was going to de-risk before FOIL, investors would of sold when it hit 60p and the high fifties not wait till the mid forties ??? my own view is general market doom all round, shorting etc, prospects here are still encouraging, its not as if the main core hedgies, institutions are throwing the towels in.

I offer the opinion that the share price drop was purely for the US roadshow to attract United States Based Investors, they would be more willing to buy at 45p rather than 60p hence the drop.

Another reason for drop, US Roadshow the Yanks get more for there Buck ???? CA must have his Snout in the Trough together with all the other rogues. When it hit 60p recently should of been automatically 40p to sell so locking them in. Big Spread is what CA have on his Stock ???

Would not like to be out of this over the weekend ???

On BBC2 Sunday Night there was a programme called Engineering Giants, i only caught the last 15 minutes, it was about oil rigs in the North Sea as i have no oil background i found it very interesting, it told you about seperators and xmas trees etc, it showed the rig control room ( they had been pumping oil for over 20 years think it was Nelson Alpha ) the operator interestingly said at present it was extracting 80% water but still producing 15K barrels of oil per day. This trained my thoughts to our Resident Water Refuter who has been in HUR since the Baby left the Womb, and has always been our first line of defence on water issues, and whose knowledge of water issues is based on solid research and not flippancy, this would be more ammunition for him when water issues raise their ugly heads again in the future, rather than give the posters name his pseudonym name ends in a number which is the median between a £10 note and a £20 note ????? the Rig Operator also said the water is treated and chucked back into the Sea.

Right talking of water issues its time for me Lunch Time Swim, the life guards call me the " Man from Atlantis " i think they are taking the oracle though !!!!!
