There’s an abundance of top income shares available to buy today and Centamin (LSE: CEY) is one that I’d happily purchase before the close of January. I’d load up not in anticipation of some hot financial or operational updates but in case gold prices heat up again.
The Egypt-focussed miner has already impressed the market today with some splendid production numbers. In a release, it advised that fourth-quarter gold production at its Sukuri mine leapt 51% from the previous three months to 148,387 ounces, meaning that year-on-year production rose 2% in 2019 to 480,529 ounces.
And Centamin said that output should creep higher again in 2020 and clock in at between 510,000 and 540,000 ounces.
The FTSE 250 digger’s share price has crept 3% higher in Thursday business on the back of the release, one so strong that market makers have shrugged off a serious pullback in bullion prices over the past 24 hours. With tensions easing between the US and Iran following earlier military hostilities, gold was recently back at $1,550 per ounce and some way off the seven-year peaks above $1,580 struck on Tuesday.

Remember Centamin tends to be contrarian in it's SP behavior so it is almost impossible to predict
However if POG stays strong and Endeavour skulks away and considering the last update then in theory the SP may well improve , especially as the stinkers that are shorting us at present on in support of Endeavour will most likely close their positions .

Thursday afternoon I received a telephone call from the take over panel and the chap explained the following.
The fact that the CEO of Endeavour is under investigation for fraud is not something that would fall within their remit, they are only interested ensuring the correct procedure is followed.
Endeavour have until the 14th Jan to make their firm offer on a form 2.7 , this must give full details of any offer and also state if the new company would be duel listed.
If Endeavour make no firm offer on form 2.7 by the 14th Jan 2020 then they cannot request any further extensions, after that date only Centamin can request any extension.

28 day rule 2.3 The rationale behind this timetable derives from the “siege principle”. While an offeror should have sufficient time in which to prosecute its offer (and to seek to persuade offeree company shareholders of its merits), the offeree company should not be exposed to an excessive period of siege.
Endeavour have to wait 6 months before putting in any other offer

The market is an ass, devoid of integrity and decency, it cant be trusted, it is run along the lines of a crooked casino with a magnets under the roulette wheel controlled by the shadows (MM).
The so called market regulations are a complete sham which give no protection to the ordinary investors but provide a smoke screen to cover up the everyday legalised crookery and skulduggery in the trading rooms.
I appreciate that you are a relatively new to this forum when compared to some on here which is possibly why you haven't had the time to get to really understand the personalities and ways of some of the other forum members.
Many on here have been share holders for over a decade and have been through some very difficult and trying times during which they have continued to support Centamin and indeed one another!
After the events of the past two years it's hardly surprising if at times investors want to vent their frustrations, far better to do that than make rash ill thought through decisions, that is not being negative it is being human.
Despite some broken promises and missed targets on behalf of the management the majority of the long term holders have increased their holdings and recognise that the management have implemented some changes that are helping to return Sukari production to more normalised levels.
However whilst this turnaround at Sukari is most welcome there is still much more to be achieved and a carpet bagging Endeavour to send down the road before we can start to think about putting on our golden flips flops!

I think the fact that Endeavour is so high just about sum's up what is wrong with the markets!

Still reducing long positions , are they confident about the Endeavour take over?

The brokers borrow the Centamin stock for a fee in order to go short using leveraged CFD's, it's a very underhand and unethical practice that unfortunately is with market regulations!
But there you go this shows the cut of Endeavou'sr jib!, carpetbaggers & stinkers run by a CEO who is under investigation for corruption!

Quite so Rebess, not quite what my contact was expecting, don't know why, but never the less a great and long overdue improvement that indicates that 2020 should be a much better year! overall, unless Endeavour has our pants down!

Cowichan as always your argument is polite, pertinent and and certainly very valid!
Chris Judd is nice chap,but has completely failed to answer a query which is not new but ongoing and so in my view could and should have been answered,,using the present Endeavour due diligence is an excuse, the due diligence procedure was'nt in process when these questions were originally asked!
Why not also address your concerns to Bobby Morse, or even give him a call?

Were the CEO's of the other companies being investigated by the regulators, no smoke without fire!
Perhaps these are normal Endeavour tactics?
If Centamin gets hooked up with them the share holders will get shafted !

True they haven't worked out how to invent actual gold bullion, but do they really need when they seem well abled to control the markets with paper gold, spoofing and innuendo !
