My point was if the company had bought back shares then that would have reduced the number of shares available that could be bought in the open market by the funds, it would have also increased the share price making it more expensive for Endeavour to try and take over Centamin,

Very interesting Bob , certainly shows the folly of allowing too many of the company shares to be held by funds like Blackrock!
This whole sorry episode illustrates just how wrong Pardey was to be so against a company share buy back, some of us wrote to Pardey on several occasions pointing out that unless there was a share buy back Centamin was exposed to a takeover on less than favourable terms!

Funny you should mention that Rebess, obviously we don't know for sure, although I was given the impression that Sawiris has a real chip on his shoulder about Sukari and he s convinced that he is owed by the Egyptian government.
Sawface certainly cares not a jot about anyone but himself, certainly not the Centamin share holders, so if he gets his hands in the pie we can forget about any future dividends!

Quite so Rebess, makes a mockery of the supposed market regulation,the markets are a paradise for crooks to operate in!

According to my contact hey have made a number of purchases over the past 6 weeks as it happens!
Not sure how this is allowed in view they have Directors on the Endeavour board and so are effectively insiders?
I wonder is this permitted under Canadian rules?

I once asked an acquaintance of mine why Sawiris didn't invest directly in Centamin and was told that tit was probably because there was no love lost between him and the El Raghy family?
Reading between the lines it seems there the was some jealousy about the Sukari concession agreement.

Thanks Bob, I was unaware that the Put & Call held simultaneously effectively neutralised one another, End must be up to something?
I was once persuaded by a broker to use a "Put" during a rough point in the markets and I recall it cost me a considerable fee, although I have never used Put & Call in tandem!

Quite right Rebess, as you will no doubt be aware putting both "Put" & "Call" position in place is a on the size of trade Endeavour are doing carry substantial contact charges!

Very true, BMW wiring looms were also a favourite of ratty, VW's weren't such a favourite with ratty but then on some of their models rain water used to seep in around the air con duct gasket into the foot well ECU box from there it then seeped into the main wiring loom where would corrode the copper wiring which possibly meant it didn't taste so nice as Audi or BMW looms!

I heard from a reliable source that if and when the new mining law happens it will not make any difference to the Sukari operation as the agreement is enshrined in law.

Glad you posted this, it confirms what I have suspected about Mr Sawiris for some time!
Horrible man, what planet is he living on, certainly not the same one as the many millions of poor in his own country and the rest of the world!
His statement on the global economy interest rates is utter rubbish, as we know the reason interest rates are so ow is because the global economy is in such a poor state!
it is also wrong that he is using the his political and government official contacts to try and give Endeavour a commercial advantage over Centamin when in reality it if for his own personal gain if the takeover is successful!

Yes Mr Tibbles was a very handsome black tom with a white bib and white paws who was very intelligent, and completely fearless, Mr Tibbles owner had died and although several people tied to adopt him he would never stay with them and roamed the neighbourhood fending for himself.
I became aware of Mr Tibbles when I was involved with my friends Bosch garage franchise which also specialised in prestigious and high performance car sales, the actual garage premises backed onto some old abandoned industrial buildings which were the ideal place for rats and mice to breed.
Unfortunately some of these rats and mice would get into the garage workshops and the car showroom where they could do an astonishing amount of damage to the cars wiring and upholstery in a very short time, this was despite the showroom and the sales cars doors being closed.
Despite the installation of various specialist vermin control by some of the best known names in the vermin control business the chewed car wiring looms and eaten car upholstery continued to be a problem.
Then one morning when I entered the car car showroom I discovered two dead rats, both with with broken necks on the carpet and then i noticed Mr Tibbles sitting in a high back leather chair looking quite satisfied with himself, he must have been mistakenly shut in at close of business the previous day.
After that Mr Tibbles spent most nights at the garage and the problem of chewed car wiring and upholstery ceased completely, Mr Tibbles decided to take up permanent residence at the garage and although he remained quite aloof he seemed very content as he was loved and spoiled by the staff and customers.

My reliable acquaintance assures me that not all the institutions are in favour of any Endeavour merger /takeover due to the potential loss of the dividend payments amongst other things.

With their money & the kitty he El Raghy family could open a long CFD position leveraged up 20x (with agreed voting rights leveraged that would make things very difficult for Endeavour & the shorters!
Josef must realise this from his experience as a broker.

Well this is probably normal Endeavour business tactics, after all their CEO is under investigation by the French authorities!

So Mr Sawiris wants Centamin to make it work,of course he does so that he can recoup some of his losses in Endeavour, Blackrock have hardly been supportive of Centamin so far!
