Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Now, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe one of our usual discussions may well include biscuits? Let park the cine party for the moment though.....
We've had masks in Scotland ages now, doesn't make any difference in day to day, everyone just gets on with it. I went to see Bond and boss baby with masks, who cares. Walk in, buy food, sit down, take masks off, eat. Get up, put mask on walk out. This isn't like last year when people were scared to go out and take there kids into the cinema, everyone I speak to is just fed up now and going about their business. I'm a key worker (oil and gas) and have been in work through the whole pandemic and I've seen first hand the shift in attitude from the office workers essentially now bored at home and slowly coming back in day by day under the pretense of needing to be in the office. When you peel it back to the core, they want to socialize because that's the kind of creatures we are and that's why cinema is still here. I have disney/netflix/prime and 70" with dobly atmos surround but the cinema is different. If Gordan Ramsey served you at your kitchen table would it be the same as in his restraint with music in the background and table service? No, it wouldn't. You pay for the theatre of it all and the socialization as much as the food. Same applies to cinema. All in my opinion, rant over :D
Sky news, 2 hours ago;
Existing vaccines should still protect people who contract the Omicron variant from severe Covid cases, a World Health Organization (WHO) official says.
It comes as the first lab tests of the new variant in South Africa suggest it can partially evade the Pfizer jab.
Researchers say there was a "very large drop" in how well the vaccine's antibodies neutralised the new strain.
But the WHO's Dr Mike Ryan said there was no sign Omicron would be better at evading vaccines than other variants.
Sounding promising
GSK says sotrovimab antibody-based Covid-19 therapy is effective against Omicron variant;
A quick one from Reuters here which sounds like good news. Britain’s GSK has released new data from early-stage studies, citing that its antibody-based Covid-19 therapy with US partner Vir is effective against all mutations of the new Omicron coronavirus variant.
The data, yet to be published in a peer-reviewed medical journal, shows that the companies’ treatment, sotrovimab, is effective against all 37 identified mutations to date in the spike protein, GSK said in a statement.
Because it's in the FTSE 350 travel and leisure constituents grouping. So that's why people say it.
Nice Bonkers, to the point. I'd be surprised if they reply in anything but the vaguest of fashion if at all. That's one loaded question.
Will do Wellington, worth an ask either way just to hear their response, cheers.
Just checked my 212 account and 98.45% of my shares are being lent out. I set my sell limit to £2 but doesn't make any difference, I looked into opting out;
No. Once agreed to, the share lending cannot be discontinued in your Invest account.
"If you decide to opt-out, then you’ll have to liquidate your holdings and request account closure"
Handy.
easyJet down 15%, ouch
Now, correct me if I'm wrong because I probably am. The stock exchange from 8-4.30 is just that, an exchange. It's the middle man that takes my share as a seller and passes my share to you as a buyer. Now, at 4.30 the exchange closes and it doesn't "hold" any shares as it is just that, an exchange. So, how can there be more buys than sells? The number must be the same as buyers are matched to seller and vice versa so the amount of buys and sells must match at close of exchange with the exception of what's happening at close which is the uncrossing trade. The only thing of relevance really is the VOLUME if movement through the day? Ok, closing the lid and going back in my box now lol
Interesting walk off the cliff all of a sudden. God I'm so happy I bought back in at 69 last week.
Time, love it! Succinctly written : D
This covid flare up, forced vaccinations, Boris not ruling out another lockdown, various contributing factors in the US could very well see our price go up next week. This is Cine, it loves to defy logic, all LTH's would agree I believe.
PW, I'm quite partial to CLUB's (mint or the rare fruit ones) or Gold bars but I think they're beyond our reach for now. How about some Chocolate digestives (Tesco own brand for now)?
Antmoss, my treat.
I'm in, its Friday and we need some biscuits.
Thanks PW. Link, I bought in at 69.5, expecting a drop back then hopefully a bounce in December but I'm not counting my chickens yet, it was this time last year I initially bought in and it's came full circle, pretty much doubling in between then dropping back. This case is hopefully last hurdle. Just heard on radio Booster jabs being offered to all over 40's now.
Morning all. So, I've bought back in, I missed the rollercoaster this last month. Not been following the board much, what's the latest with the court case? Is it finished and we're just waiting on the verdict being delivered?
Sold up on Friday, had enough. Thanks for all the support, especially in the early days and in particular Crumpets, No Fear and Robin. This was my first share investment and it's been a roller coaster but it's not put me off. I needed the money, I made enough profit to buy my Omega I've always wanted and I regret not selling in March, on my birthday, at £1.24 but who'd have thought we'd end up back here. Good luck all, it'll come good, cinema is here to stay, even Disney has finally realised this, it's just a waiting game.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but TUI is raising cash by offering its current share holders cut price shares, read about this a week or 2 ago but its in the news today so that could partly explain the blue.
Good examples Fun, instead however I used the filter for the first time in 11 months and what a pleasure it was!
