Watch from 10:30. For me, this question and answer summed up succinctly where the fca stand. . It’s a redress scheme built on pillars of salt and sand . Personally I’m concerned that this farcical (non- debate) debate, run by parliament, seemed like a green light blessing for the redress.

What was the point of that? Was there even one challenge to this redress scheme in that sitting? One of the panel checked that the redress scheme is running primarily on the basis of the Supreme Court Johnson ruling, ie high exclusive commission and the response was yes in some cases, but the redress is for wider issues like partial/non disclosure of commission, when the Supreme Court ruled there was no fiduciary duty from the dealers, so it seems the fca are ignoring the Supreme Court ruling, yet not one of them challenged this bizarre response.

Knot, what is your erudite opinion on the upcoming Barclays v FOS court case ( and the dichotomy of a positive or negative outcome). Do you believe either decision will greatly affect how the FCA proceed.

Nothing allegedly about shifting my Lloyds to Cbg, just did a gamble on the sc outcome, having looked into Cbg and it’s financials and realised if it was favourable, then the upside to Cbg would be far greater than Lloyds. I have also heard the total put aside to cover dca payments from the banks was £2 billion, the majority from Lloyds at £1.2 billion. If it goes badly and £13.5 billion is to be paid out, that’s over 5 times more, in simplistic terms does that mean £165 million x 5 for close?

The original £165 million put aside from close brothers, does anyone understand what this was for, ie, was it just for dca payments and how did they get to this figure. In light of this proposed 9 to 18 billion redress, if it was say 13 billion to pay ( and yes I understand this is not concrete yet) is this higher than what had been anticipated and what could the cost to close be?

So about 3:30 on Friday I sold my Lloyds shares and put the lot £39000 into close. Sat there glued to sky at 4:35 and felt pretty dam good 10 minutes later. I believed if it went badly, both Lloyds and close would get hammered, but anything positive, I felt close would have a far greater upside than lloyds. Time will tell if I indeed did the right thing!

Seems like a kick in the teeth to people who invested with the fund raise at 57 p, when they were in financial trouble. Having the majority of ownership, they come in with a lowball offer, which as far I understand, we cannot refuse. Disingenuous behaviour, now it looks like they’ve turned the corner. For me, the low 40p offer, puts me with a slight profit, I feel sorry for those that bought into the offer price, but us private investors are just cannon fodder after all!

Hard to say mate, it really shouldn’t be this low now, but you know the pattern by now, up down ,up down. Hopefully with the Xmas trading period, results should improve and there she blows, but if they come out with any negativity….I held for ages, could have made a fortune buying and selling, but hindsight’s a wonderful thing and I felt I was always in for the long haul, but at just under £1.30 I pressed the magic button and am mighty relieved I did now. I’m now undecided as to whether to buy back in, I feel it will go a bit lower, but it’s all the other crap going on, the Middle East, Russia and those Labour morons and there Blame it on the Tories budget about to reek havoc on the ftse. I’m holding a lot of banking stock and though I don’t want to bail, I think two tier and thick o Reeves are pushing me that way, oh the drama!
