Rolling out the battle ships to protect our own waters now I see. I was surprised just was territory we have on the seas.. must be a pretty big bargaining chip..
Yeah I guess.. I was just wondering as I can’t see Borris and his Merry men negotiating us to a deal!
I was keeping an eye on the AMC situation after they said they were having urgent talks with WB.. I can’t see that those urgent discussions yielded anything? I’m glad Chris Nolan had a pop at them though.. genuinely think it will be to their own detriment ultimately.

Thoughts folks..I can’t make my mind up... if a no deal happens will it effect the SP.. even though we are predominantly US based..? Didn’t seem to have an influence today!
It’s opened to our opening price yesterday, everyone relax and breathe. Sold shares now bails the shorters out.
Completely agree. Well done to those with higher averages.
For all those who have seen the lows, you’ve earned the right to see (and enjoy) the highs.
Investing in something you believe in, and watching it come good is something special.

the silence of these two muppets is almost as satisfying as watching the SP skyrocket... almost!
Thanks anyway though guys, you’ve made the journey more enjoyable!!
As always, an interesting read and extremely relevant set of info from NF. thank you.
Question; if I’m reading the analysis correctly, Asian markets are the significant contributors.. I don’t see this as a negative for cine, even though we reside in US and UK predominantly, as any cinema positive sentiment will ultimately benefit all I think - I just want to know if I’m interpreting the info correctly..?
Thnx

No green filtered messages this morning, guessing the shorters have crawled back in their holes frantically looking for the cleenex.
Spare a thought for oceanbackpassage, shamus, shorter, and IDW & co. I’m sure we all collectively feel for them in their time of need!!
Good luck all! :)
Evening folks, so I reckon by the time Joe Biden is in office, the SP will be back over £1.. based on the current presidents actions, I don’t need any substance or facts to my claims... much the same as IDW and all those before him (back passage, shamus, shortrollox and inci)! Maybe they should run for office come to think of it..?
Just some Friday fun of course.
Have a good weekend all

Thanks Steve / NF, very much mirroring my own sentiments, guess it’s just nice to hear someone else say it rather than always telling myself!
I was convinced for a period there that a takeover was Imminent with jangho registering a serious interest as you point out. I do take positives from them Just being there though, along with other big boys that don’t appear to be shifting.. despite coming off the back of a series of knock backs with bad news plentiful and little in the way of good news! Hoping Wonder Woman doesn’t get pushed back, and there’s some serious hype in build up to christmas, with a beautiful film roster to come in 2021!

Good evening all, there’s a serious ambiance switch in here which is massively welcome! Good work to everyone pulling together to make this happen. I don’t pretend to know the intricate ins and outs of the 0.55% short position, but I’ll be sending an email on the strength of people’s well informed posts, so again, well done all!
I’m interested to know.. Just by way of people’s opinion percentages, how likely do people feel the follow scenarios are likely to happen..? I’ve had a go..
Rights issue: 5%
Bankruptcy: 5%
Takeover:10%
Waivers & additional funding 75%
Other..?
All just opinion of course, and nothing more than gut feel!! DYOR

Just an observation.. for all the tosh “certain” individuals post on this BB it pains me to say that engaging with them is only playing into their hands. The more posts with highly inaccurate, or deliberately negative headlines that get responded to, the more a potential negative & manufactured vibes will spread! for those honestly invested, with a genuine interest, and no specific agenda on here.. create your own threads and talk amongst yourselves with accurate headlines.. even if you want to talk about others. The “reply” button can be ad damaging as those here with ill intentions.

In other news, NYC cinemas open and potential vaccines popping up left right and centre!!

Picture the scene.. There’s a packed 2021 calendar with everyone vying for position when they release films, hoping they’ll have a slot in the limelight just long enough to make waves before the next show rolls into town out and steals your thunder. You know things are turning and cinemas are opening gradually globally.. lockdown measures are in place and in a month rates will significantly drop again... a government who may put incentives on the table to go to the cinema..what’s your best play? Imagine if bond got released late November and had 4-5 weeks in the limelight with no competition and ample marketing FOC as the saviour of the film industry before WW rolls into town.
Maybe it’s more of a Disney script, but some clever marketing boffin is thinking it I’m sure..

No doubt, of course it is. I too check the stats.. and you’ll have noticed deaths are nowhere near as high, and we now have far greater knowledge of dealing with it. Businesses are opening with safety measures in place (case in point New York opening cinemas). As I said, it’ll be slow, but the balance is shifting, this is undeniable, IMO. Not to mention a potential vaccine on the horizon. MBD
Cine have kitted a lot of places out during the downturn.. lenders will recognise we’re better placed for the revival. Of course it’s not without risk.. but if I were a lender, I’d be looking for companies with a proven track record of generating profit (tick), and an excellent business model moving forward (tick). The pandemic is ongoing, but the worst of it is behind us, and the scales are now slowly tipping in favour of overcoming the situation. The interim mitigation of cash flow issues will be a constant topic across thousands of businesses.. little are as well placed as cine for the upturn IMO.
Nice article on Cineworld still pushing forward... clearly still got the bigger picture in mind when the doors reopen with an abundance of films to show!
And good news on new York to boot..
