Been pondering the lack of engagement in IR terms and there is one scenario consistent with this company's insouciant approach
If you were planning some form of PTP transaction you would not be busting a gut to push the SP higher
If the Board and backers came forward with say a 70p take private deal could it get through leaving the significant upside we all expect to be shared out between a much smaller group including the founders ?
Clearly I hope not but it's always necessary to have eyes wide open on AIM and that would fit the facts so far

Agreed this is excellent news
My understanding is that this will most likely take a similar path to their earlier spin off RENX and that a NASDAQ listing will be considered in due course
This has the potential to be a substantial company and help to deliver better healthcare treatment for a horrible disease
My sense is that this won't be the last joint venture with Mt Sinai
Meanwhile the Covid related work continues apace
I am a little surprised we haven't seen any holdings related RNS given the v high volumes in recent weeks but perhaps that will be revealed soon

Will be interesting to see who picked up the LO stake - should trigger an RNS

90k gone through at 520 which is quite substantial - a sign of US demand in future perhaps or just Wbernard finally loading up ??

EKF Diagnostics Holdings plc (AIM: EKF), the?AIM listed point-of-care business, announces that it has entered into a non-exclusive Preferred Partner Arrangement (the "Agreement") with Mount Sinai Innovation Partners ("MSIP").  MSIP is responsible for driving the real-world application and commercialisation of discoveries and inventions made within the Mount Sinai Health System ("MSHS"), New York's largest integrated healthcare delivery system, encompassing eight hospitals, a leading medical school, and a large network of ambulatory practices throughout the greater New York region.

 

EKF has established a longstanding and close working relationship with MSIP, through the highly successful spin-off of Renalytix AI plc, the developer of artificial intelligence-enabled diagnostics for kidney disease, and in collaboration with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai ("Mount Sinai"), the medical school of MSHS. This new agreement provides EKF with advanced access to further innovative commercial opportunities arising from MSHS owned technologies managed by MSIP.  Such opportunities benefit from a clinician and demand-focused approach to developing commercially relevant healthcare products and services, and access to deep domain expertise in clinical disciplines and academia, commercial healthcare enterprises and other key stakeholders in the US healthcare market. EKF has had considerable success in developing and commercialising healthcare technologies internationally, both directly and with major partners.

 

In connection with the Agreement, the Company has signed a non-binding term sheet with Mount Sinai, which will allow the Company to explore the opportunity to support the licensing of technology originating from Mount Sinai to establish a novel digital health platform for earlier intervention in and better management of patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease ("IBD").   

 

IBD, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, is one of the most costly and complex incurable disease categories, with up to $31.6 billion estimated to be spent

The only initiative I am aware of relates to the IBD research and was mentioned last September in an RNS

Market is huge per RENX and it's a horrible illness so anything that can help target treatment would be welcomed across the healthcare system

They have support from some of the leading nephrologists in the world

This will save hospitals huge costs relating to CKD and improve patient treatment
