Getting ready to open the purse - AGAIN.

What an opportunity that drop to 67p was for boarding the bus. All a bit smelly over at AFC, noted all the large buys by directors, inc wife and kids first week in May - the reason is now clear. Happy to participate, they have been a "real dog" in the recent past.

I have been invested in AFC for many years and witnessed the shares travel from 4p all the way to 86p ish and back.

I can never recall any significant buying (with their own money) by directors (Bond never once put his hand in his own pocket).

But I did note some decent buying (per the 5 RNS's) in the first week of May 2025. I just wonder if todays news was in their domain at that time.

Wife and kids involved all rather suspect to me - but I will take the benefit, and hopefully just the start of better times.

Shot through the £500m and may take onto many funds buying lists (again).

For a company (BOD) to voluntarily come out with "we can see not reason for the sudden increase in our share price"

No comment has been forthcoming with the shares having moved from the opening 27/5/25 (46.35p) to tonights close at 63.80 an increase of 37.64%.

Furthermore the volume of shares (per the FT) has been 9.42m Friday and 13m today, the FT reports the daily average volume for ITM at 4.23m.

So are we to assume that the BOD know exactly why there has been such movement - interesting.

The share has recovered well from ex div date, payment will be this week and the price should be supported by those reinvesting the dividend.

Buy-backs progressing and with a further £1bn ear marked for future buy backs things could get interesting.

One would imagine they will have been active protecting their position, if they haven't, positive news and further price improvement, heads will role. Greedy springs to mind.

Now watch them bang additional taxes on the banking sector to make up for losing the dividend on NAT WEST.

The 2 stated positions = 3.79% of the company's shares, my calc says circa 22,730,400 shares. Buying those back in a hurry will be a rocket launch.

For the shares to rise 15%+ on no new news, there is clearly a leak of coming news, no smoke without fire.

IMO both MNG and LGEN are in the shop window, LGEN spiked earlier in the year and with buy-backs the are struggling to find direction. Would not be at all surprised if one or both get taken out, its a growing trend with decent UK companies.

These consultations are all well and good, and the outcomes may be positive for the future of JOG and others, however that overlooks how they and government actions in general have wiped 12/18 months out of the industries, coupled with the 2 years lost through COVID, expensive disasters for all involved.
