Drop seems timed with the annual report date ... 11 March?
It is hard to believe that Armatrader actually anticipates we will have zero trade with the EU next year instead of £650Bn! Tariffs [in both directions] and slowness etc. fair enough but zero? Reminds me of the woman on BBC radio 4 who bought a 30cu ft freezer and then filled it in case we are not allowed any imports of food from the EU in the future!
Does that mean when you sell eventually you only pay any CGT, or are you income taxed by the UK dealer on the transaction to account for the divs - whether the Sp.WT or uk20%? Not intending to sell anytime soon....was hit by the £10-£4 drop a few years ago!. Great yield anyway, why doesn't everyone have them? Your answer might explain why. Thanks
looked at c. 8.05 today and price was 1863, a day rise from 1590 of c.275, 17.5%. Immediately logged into my capita account to sell all - to find it wasn't that price at all. back to this board to find had returned to 1619. So who arranged such a jump? who arranged to make a fortune over a few seconds??? and who then returned it to 'normal' levels? seems very fishy somehow. are any trades recorded for then - knowing they can be delayed being posted on this board list for up to a couple of days it appears..............
Still not resolved the question. Is % OFFICIAL yield as in the box on this board [a] the SP the day they print the cheques out [or its converted to shares in one's name] or [b] the day the div was originally made public [c] the results day? All are different. In the newspaper lists daily does the 'yield' column change with SP daily; ie if the SP drops 10% the % yield rises? Surely my own actual yield will be the day I look at the share price minus the overall cost of the shares originally, including earlier divs and the % yield is the difference between them divided by the current price. Or am I way out?
I have dealt direct with Santander in Lancing Sussex since they started. I opted for a dividend holding account and automatic reinvestment , which has the remaining monies after each Div issue - that is by definition less than 1 share's worth. Have done this for years 4 times per year & has made a huge difference in share numbers. Alas much of the core was purchased at the £9 mark originally so I'm about quits overall at the moment! Sorry to hear TDW doesnt do it..perhaps they should!
Amazing climb recently. Just my luck; I sold 1500 last summer at the 'top' of its usual cycling of 200 - 260 having had some for ages as freebies! I have been anticipating its temporary demise to get back in for the last few months, so shows what a mess one can make of it even when you try ! I await any special divi on the rump of what is left...is there a likely cut-off date [?passed?] for that? Re-rating means what exactly?
Anyone care to illuminate what the implication is for UK shareholders of this:- Mon, 25th Feb 2013 10:45 The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has lifted the restriction on Santander UK's dividends, allowing them to be channelled back to parent company Banco Santander. Analysts at Bankinter explained that the original decision was based on concerns that the British subsidiary would be de-capitalised in order to strengthen capital at the Spanish bank and make up for higher provisions in the domestic market as a result of the housing crisis. These analysts argue however that "the lower perception of risk towards Spain, the European Central Bank's intervention, and positive 'stress test' results were reason enough for the regulator to lift that restriction." Santander UK repatriated £450m in dividends in late 2012 and expects to pay out another £500m this year. Bankinter said that this will have a positive impact on the stock. It has a 'buy' rating for Santander. Thanks....I just keep putting the Divis into more shares.
Yes I vividly recall this share at £10...and bought in some at about that price......so a v long wait in store to get back there! Apparent "good divi" if your mean price is where we are at now but of course far less % [ie half] if in at c. £9.
