I went with the post office. Hasting Direct wanted the below
This year's total price Ā£215.04
Last year's total price Ā£152.34
Post office for this year Ā£142. But I added āno claims protectionā and the post office included legal protection which the above didnāt. Just received house insurance renewal and that went up 46%, shopping around tomorrow!
And a got it cheap
Iāve been out all day mostly driving so missed the action! US holding interest rates and saying March cuts are not a given could see negative market tomorrow, BoE tomorrow as well. Anyway see what tomorrow brings, probably missed the highs.
The article if you canāt read it.
Chancellor Jeremy Hunt's Autumn Statement on 22 November was dominated by a cut to national insurance rates and tax breaks for business investment.
But under the radar, a host of other updates on everything from short-selling regulations and crypto to venture capital trusts and foreign direct investment should keep City professionals busy in the months ahead.
Financial News rounds up the news you might have missed from the showpiece fiscal event.
Short-selling disclosure thresholds to change
Hedge funds take note: The government has published draft legislation for its planned short-selling regulations.
The new rules give the Financial Conduct Authority the power to restrict short-selling in āexceptional circumstances where there is a serious threat to financial stability or market confidenceā. The FCA can impose restrictions on uncovered shorts ā where sellers haven't actually borrowed or confirmed they would own the shares at the time of sale ā when appropriate under the rules.
The requirement to report net short positions to the FCA goes back up from 0.1% of issued share capital to 0.2%, however. That legislation isn't final: industry professionals still have until 10 January to weigh in on the technical aspects.
This is why the chancellor was discussing it (think Bloomberg tv).

NGR, not sure what youāre looking for, but this interview below BT was so bullish. I transcribed his words on settlement and put it to the board, āwhat changed the boards views and why did this not get communicated to shareholdersā. guess what? Didnāt answer it.
Edison Interview with Brian Tenner - CEO Transcript 4th May 2022 interview
In terms of the boards attitude to a negotiated settlement we've always said that, as long as we get fair value for our patients, then we don't mind whether it's an enforced, court decision, or an negotiated decision. The one thing I would say though is fair value in the boards mind means, It reflects the global coverage that we've got through all of our patents.
āØSo not just the United States, and it also reflects the life of our patents. So whether that's going to 2028 or 2035, We feel that any negotiated settlement as long as reflects both those factors then hmm as long as it delivers fair value weāre happy.
Agree with the title, I first bought here back in Oct 2022 but sold all my holdings last year. I'm now back in 19/01 (down 7%) but happy to avg down. Looking forward to this year, hopefully some good updates.
