Baillie Gifford just added at this ludicrously low price. I would follow suit if I had any funds !!
wanting to buy a Mining company with easily accessible Graphite resources , in a friendly stable environment, where would I look. I think the answer would be Alba. Buy the company and forget the gold, let someone else cuddle up to the Bats and the greenies. The Greenies with the graphite is where the action will be. We have 54% of Greenroc. Even after the last 2 days our Market Cap is only £16m. GLA
dickupham, yes it's me! Ah yes the good old days of the III message board - what a cods they made of that. It really was hard to **** everybody off but III managed it. On JOG I am in a reasonable position but had anticipated something substantial happening before now. I am not sure Oil is my forte (if you will pardon the pun). I got hurt by Hurricane and was diddled by DELEK when they bought Ithaca for well (another pun) under what i though was its' value. Everything in moderation you say- after a Christmas day where I was beaten up by 2 bottles (at least) of red wine I wholly concur with your advice. I trust that we both remain relatively healthy while we wait for developments . Rgds
Shearclass you say "I think their business model is very good, however what I don't like about them is their comms style. I agree about a lack of transparency in their marketing practices, if they changed tack to focus on supporting the wine industry instead of how cheap your first 6 bottles of wine are then I think they would do a lot better with retention. Less new customer spend and higher retention of the ones that do sign up, but a slower growth rate."
Agreed. In the States I would shift tack to more emphasis on "do your bit to support junior up and coming domestic USA wine growers and be the first into some great wines" . I would enjoy marketing USA wines v French.
Krusty Were you referring to Park Foods?? They lost their way because they deviated from their previous very successful business model eg into door step lending. Naked are focussed and I dont see them needing to diversify.
The outlook in my opinion is very good. They get their customer cash up front is just the starter. Also it reminds me of the Christmas hamper model, save all year and get a case of wine. Wine quality is wide ranging and caters for all tastes. Finally their wine rating system is driven by the actual consumers and not by manipulation. So when 2or 3 hundred recommend a wine you know its a winner. Yes I am a customer and a shareholder. !!
Many thanks to Elrico for arranging the meeting and full respect to Stuart and his team for giving their time and an engrossing 2 hours. My take away from the meeting was that our investments are in extremely capable hands. I and a couple of other doubters in the room were thinking and saying if it sounds too good to be true then it usually is not true. The answers give me the belief that this is the exception. I am going to have to exit some higher risk positions and reinvest them in Skin as I am now completely convinced. This is not ramping but merely an expression of my excitement in this company's prospects.
Interesting piece in the DT today reporting that Israel is to start booster jabs as the protection offered after 2 jabs is falling over time. So my take on that is the vaccine being a one off exercise that will generate herd immunity is now a non starter. So having 2 vaccines will not give you a vaccine certificate that lasts for ever. Testing is here for a long time to come. Also having developed a LFT test for COVID the way is now open for Avacta to use all the knowledge and expertise gained from the last 12 months to start developing LFT test for a range of other things. The day when the medicine cabinet at home is full of different LFT's does not seem to far off. I have topped up today!!
A positive RNS. I am guessing that some or all of the patients who have volunteered to help AVACTA and the medical world with this trial will be in a bad place regarding survival. My heart goes out to them . I just hope that this works and that they get some small comfort from knowing that they are potentially making a major contribution to the treatment of others in the future.
