Alas, it was only yesterday I pointed it out that GST is a FINTECH company, not a crypto company. Governments want a stablecoin, FCA wants a stablecoin and what they are designed and intended to be used for (what GST, FCA and Gov't) are working toward) is absolutely NOTHING to do with crypto.

Fantastic that it's been scheduled so quickly after passing through HoL. Let's hope the ammendments are accepted as is and Commons don't send back to HoL again. If so, then Royal Assent could be within a week or so from Monday.

Barret. A stablecoin is designed to be pegged to a FIAT currency, pound, dollar etc. Like BUSD it will only fluctuate to maintain 1:1 parity to whatever it is pegged. The stablecoin is used with blockchain technology as the intermediary (instead of the banking system) to make payments and tranfers. Hence it's cheaper, faster and more secure.

Only if you think it'll increase business at GS20, which it probably will, but we won't know for a few moths yet. Otherwise bitcoin and other crpto currency has no connection what so ever. DYOR.

Bill passed. Now back to HoP for the final stage, 'Consideration of Amendments', before Royal Ascent. The amendments made in the HoL almost entirley relate to ensuring the environment is taken into consideration in elements of the bill. There is nothing I can see that will affect the introduction of GST stablecoin for payment services.

NO idea when the HoP will debate and hopefully accept the amendments, but, as with all things GST, IMO it's just a matter of time before the green light and full steam ahead.

To be fair Roger, I do remember Tone previously advising that the FCA don't like anyone giving updates while they're going through FCA approvals / applications. Therefore I'd take the silence as a sign of just that. Nothing more.

As seems pretty obvious now; if they'd been told no already to the application then we'd know.

Since Tone came onboard GST haven't failed to produce the goods with any aquisitions, approvals or application, and there's been a few. I know, I've had to wait it out for all of them.

I know there's a number of holders who believe the successful application to FCA sandbox may be announced following completion of the Financial Services and Markets Bill through the House of Lords. It would be a very relevantly timed RNS, but in all fairness, it's anyone's guess.

As you can see from the link, it's almost a done deal now. The 3rd and final reading due to be completed next Monday 19th June, where the remaining proposed amendments will be discussed. None, as far as I can see, will affect GST business model.

The final stages (Consideration of Amendments and Royal Ascent) are a formality.

So, I'm saying if the RNS we're waiting for is designed to be linked with the passage of the Financial Services and Markets Bill, then it'll be next week at the earliest. Of course, this could be complete boll**ks and it'll come tomorrow. :)

Zag. It's the US version of the the same potential regulation. Nothing to do with UK, but i mention it becasue the timing is 'coincidence' and if the US can also pass the regulated use of stablecoin for payment systems, then GST, if regulated in the UK and the first, will probably have a decent shot at obtaining same in US.

Yes Nobby. And as far as I'm aware, there are no amendments to be debated relating to that. Therefore, it should be a done deal and clears the path for regulated stablecoin use for which the FCA has been encouraging applications from interested parties for admission to its sandbox testing. GST aim to be the first, they've engaged a top law firm to help get through the application process, which appears to have gone very well at first stage of the FCA review. Once accepted to the sandbox they will be on course to fulfill their aim.

If anyone is genuiinely interested in the future potential for GST then you may be interested in knowing that the US House Financial Services Committee are hosting a hearing (it's just started) re "The Future of Digital Assets: Providing Clarity for the Digital Asset Ecosystem". This will include the use of stablecoin It's on YouTube.

As far as i can see, all that's been rejected is an environmental amendment. Nothing to affect GST. Please post responsibly.

Thank you Gordon. People need to remember the FCA only 'indicated' end of month for a decision. I hope it comes, but I'm prepared to have to wait a bit longer. GST will, IMO, provide an update on Thursday if it doesn't.

LLOYD is the same as MESSR was when were in the .4s and .3s. Not invested, always predicting it to go lower and promising to buy, but never actually doing so. They just move the predicted price lower again and carry on spreading FUD at every opportunity. LLOYD will never buy, just as MESSR never did. Do not give them any kudos.
