Same man spotted in local chippie,
Come on guys, is it not blindingly obvious what's going on?
Bid first thing
Does this mean a bid is imminent?
Can someone explain to me where the value to longterm shareholders with regard to the spin off is?
Not only do we have a reduced holding of GSK but the dividend per share is a fair bit less that before the split, and HLN are still not paying a dividend, and when they finally do, I believe it will start off at quite a low base.
My combined holding is now paying far less that it was a few years ago. It will take years of steady increases to the dividend ( not guaranteed) just to bring us back in income terms to where we were before the split.
You would have thought that could be the bottom with news due Monday. Let's hope so
I wish I had sold them after the Verizon deal. That was a great call.
Quady
Do your research with Vod, very high debt levels and shaky div cover. Made lots of div over the years but always erodes capital
I've changed my investing philosophy over the years. It's highly unlikely I personally will invest in another exploration company.
Obviously a younger or more risk tolerant invester may think differently. Any future profit from Solg goes straight into ftse 100/250 dividend payers for me.
Yes Bozi, very eloquently put as usual.
I suppose the point I was making is, yes all great and good luck, but never forget( and this is to us souls that have been here 10 years and are not geologists, not new investers) than believe it or not, it is still very unlikely will we find another tier 1.
As the Americans like to say, you can have your own opinion but you can't have your own data.
And as the data says, tier 1"s are very rare.
Good afternoon to you too Quady.
I'm very glad we are having a strategic review.
Hopefully it will finally give clarity to what is happening here and we should all be a lot wiser for it.
Not so we can argue about who's wrong and who's right but just to have a clearer idea of what the board are intending.
I would not get your hopes up about the regional exploration activity, there has been a steady flow of so called areas of high interest that have lead to very little. Remembering how they talked up Aginaga (I can barely remember what it is called) which shows how great that was.
I think it's another case of how Nick talked these things up. He gave the impression to laymen that this solg blueprint of exploration was so good that they had a high level of conviction about anything that looked good on surface. That has shown not to be the case clearly.
You can look at it in two ways, they big it up a lot and we are very unlikely to find another tier one, or it just shows you how rare these things truly are, and we should count ourselves lucky indeed for having found one.
Give it a rest copperplate, it was said slightly tongue in cheek to say the least.
You don't sound very chilled out to me mate.
The company needs to show it can paid down a decent amount of the debt accumulated during the pandemic,
Then we will be flying. Excuse the pun.
Merger confirmed Monday. First bid RNS Friday.
Happy new year one and all.
How funny (not) if the SR came up with the idea to sell cascabel, but keep solg going to continue exploring and prove up the other targets. After all these years, when it was the original idea to prove up, sell ,and move on .
That would actually be a joke and just show how Mather and his cronies have actually destroyed any real value here, with their ideas of grandure.
They would certainly have some questions to answer at that stage imo
2023 will mark the 10th anniversary of my investment in solg. I have bought and sold a fair few in that time, but I have consistently been a holder in that time. I'm 99% sure ot will be my last year, what ever happens. Hoping for a great outcome, but honestly now looking forward to the day when I'm no longer involved with solg. Good luck all, I'm sure im not alone in this sentiment.
No wonder they are in no rush to do anything here
Lifestyle company.
I curious to hear Quadys take on the cornerstone release and the Berry St update.
Especially as cornerstone are a major stakeholder and would know exactly what is planned as they agreed to a merger.
Would you not sell something at 25p, to buy it back at 17p?
They are in the job to make money, just like we are here to make money.
If they hold solg shares they are aligned with us for the SR
It says to me, we were on a path to production, and that has clearly changed because the chairman, qnd ceo of cornerstone, warren irwin and Berry Street are all sounding very positive about the whole thing.
Too true toS1963, let's keep our fingers crossed. I'm optimistic about the involvement of Bob Shanga. This for a change is uncharted territory .
