A bit of fun - can someone email this to Dave to save him having to write it up? ‘88e are forced to bring an offer to market based on XXX making an offer to buy out all of our assets, excluding the WINX project. During the Farm Out process we have had a number of aggressive bidders taking different strategies to gain access to our world class assets with bidders identifying, in their assessment, that our assets rank extremely highly which resulted in a bidding war between three ‘Tier 1’ O&G companies. As per previous RNS, we moved to preferred bidder with one of the companies and, following release of data relating to Yukon Gold and HRZ, they have subsequently made an offer to include all interests in our leases which comprise three main projects; Yukon Gold, Conventional and HRZ. The offer is for XXX to assume complete control over the assigned leases and includes all associates subsidiaries and those interests owned by BEX. The offer for 88e shareholders is equivalent, based on current exchange rates, to £1.42 per share. The company (88e) believes that this falls short of expectations from our shareholders and would point to Phrontists previous evaluations on the LSE for comparison (as much as ~£3/share when all assets fully proven up). We have taken the opportunity to consult with the most prolific posters on the LSE 88e Bulletin Board (Brom and Jiddy) with respect to the grammatical correctness and content of this RNS and there is a consensus of support for this approach. However, it should be noted that, MickeyMasters is all for holding out until we have an offer of £5 as this will allow for commercial aeroplanes to land on his new runway. A vote is to be held with all shareholders having a single vote for every share that they hold. DW’ Please excuse any grammatical errors ;-)

Tier 2 or other vs T1 - Question I have is, as investors, do we really get the best outcome from a T1? I’m not exactly sure anymore. What if we continue to hold a larger stake if we contract with a smaller company?....look what’s happening with Pantheon. All we really need is someone to take a share (quite possibly much less if not a T1) and commit to a drilling program on our leases where we want and in the timescales we want. When we find oil then we can ‘cream the curve’ on conventional and have a similar plan on HRZ!?...using funds to advance program on all fronts. Maybe similar plan would deliver a similar outcome at Yukon....or maybe this is sold to fund other activities?

Timely for us? ....at the end of the Pantheon RNS: “‘The exploratory significance of this result is also important as it upgrades adjoining structures."

Thanks Topoz - not in O&G but this is all pretty standard stuff from a bid/contract negotiation point of view.

DW’s comments in the RNS about ‘no guarantee’ and deal is ‘not done til it’s done’ aren’t really aimed at PI’s - this is messaging to the prospective Farminee. Standard negotiation stance....meaning they’re not going to roll us over. For the last two years I’ve been involved in a large competitive bid which has only recently resulted in us submitting our Best And Final Offer (BAFO) - still competitive but with fewer bidders as most didn’t make the final cut. My point is that the ‘game is on’ and we still have ‘World Class Assets’ that other companies want access to. The current finalist still has a job to do to secure the deal for themselves....doesn’t matter what is said on this BB. Negotiations will now be friendlier but still tense - 88e will want more in the deal and the prospective Farminee will be wanting some concessions (maybe as alluded to by others that they get first shot at HRZ or Yukon, etc.). I doubt they’ll reach an impass as both are wanting to deal, otherwise they wouldn’t be in this position.

Think we’ll get an update on ‘initial insight’.....From today’s RNS: Logging while drilling tools on the bottom hole assembly, combined with mud gas ratios and cuttings analysis, will provide initial insight into any potential hydrocarbon bearing intervals encountered during the drilling of the intermediate section. Additional data and analysis, including from wireline logging and potentially production testing will be required to provide more definitive results.
