The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
The due diligence stage often comes after the parties have signed a letter of intent (LOI), which outlines the key terms and conditions of the deal. The due diligence process can be time-consuming and intricate, involving a thorough review of financial statements, contracts, intellectual property, employee agreements, customer and supplier relationships, compliance with regulations, pending litigation, and more.
Typically, due diligence is one of the final steps before closing the sale. Once due diligence is completed, and any identified issues are addressed or negotiated, the parties can proceed to finalize the sale agreement, complete any remaining negotiations, and ultimately close the transaction.
FOR ANYONE WONDERING WHAT THE USUAL TIME SCALE IS FOR THIS:
Initial Due Diligence (Early Stage): 3 to 6 weeks
Preliminary assessment, gathering basic information, and understanding the mining operations, mineral reserves, and exploration potential.
Detailed Due Diligence (Intermediate Stage): 6 to 12 weeks
Comprehensive examination of geological data, mineral resources and reserves, mining permits and licenses, environmental and safety compliance, equipment, infrastructure, and financial aspects specific to the mining industry.
Final Due Diligence (Advanced Stage): 4 to 8 weeks
Finalizing assessments related to mining methods, processing technologies, labor, environmental impacts, community relationships, and preparing for negotiation with a deep focus on mining-specific nuances.
Due to the complexity and high-risk nature of the mining industry, due diligence in this sector often takes longer due to the need for thorough evaluation of geological and operational aspects. It's crucial to carefully assess all aspects related to mining operations, compliance with regulations, environmental impact, and community relations to make informed decisions during the due diligence process.
When a business mentions that they have several parties in various stages of due diligence, it means that there are multiple potential buyers or investors who are actively investigating and evaluating the company for a potential acquisition, investment, or partnership.
Due diligence is a critical step in the process of selling a business or securing investment. It involves a thorough investigation and analysis of the company's financials, operations, legal status, market position, intellectual property, contracts, and other relevant aspects. Different potential buyers or investors may be at different stages of this due diligence process.
For example:
Early Stage Due Diligence: Some potential buyers or investors might be in the early stages of due diligence, where they are gathering initial information, conducting preliminary assessments, and evaluating whether the opportunity aligns with their strategic objectives.
Intermediate Stage Due Diligence: Others may have progressed to an intermediate stage, where they have reviewed key documents, financials, and operations in more detail. They might be in the process of identifying potential risks, opportunities, and conducting deeper analyses.
Advanced Stage Due Diligence: A few potential buyers or investors could be in the advanced stages of due diligence, completing a comprehensive assessment of all aspects of the company. They may be close to finalizing their evaluation and preparing their offers or investment terms.
Having several parties in different stages of due diligence indicates a level of interest and engagement from potential buyers or investors. It's a positive sign for the seller, as it suggests that there is active interest in the company and multiple parties are seriously considering moving forward with the acquisition or investment process. 'Various stages' hopefully means at least one party is at the advanced stage.
Fingers crossed it will happen this year, have been invested since 2019, now really want to get out
Here's honest question. GGP and EUA has always been of similar price per share.
EUA drop is explained by the War in Ukraine and will re-rate to 20p+ easily once
the war is over..plus there is hope of an asset sale which is the best way to rerate
to its actual price….
So why is GGP waaay down from 20p? Not trying to be cynical but I fail to see the reason to be invested in here when constant hope, just like EUA...of reaching 50p has been a load of rubbish. At least EUA has more hope with war ending and asset sale. I can’t see what GGP has except rampers. Would love to be proven wrong but this is the only share in my portfolio in which I have not made any gains from when it was once in the top 3 most promising.
I regret putting my profits from HE1 in here, will not be investing any more but I will not sell at a loss. (I can’t see this going below 8p anyways)
Best of luck to all on here, tough times and no one deserves to lose cash on what was once a promising share. I hope 20p will be seen again but after spending the morning reading up on this stock for my company, I fail to see any substance to the claims that GGP is undervalued at 9p.
Quite pleased with the increase and Hopefully more to come. Imo this most likely due to the calls for Putin to resign from within Russia, with 18 politicians going as far as stating Putins committed treason. This explains why Russia has announced they will not be sending much needed reinforcements to Ukraine, therefore suggesting that the war is deescalating as there is growing resentment of the war amongst high ranked Russian officials.
I expect EUA also see this as a good time to drop some news they may have been holding back.
I told myself I would sell as soon as it goes above 25% to then re-invest back at 5p, but based on current world events I cant see us not reached double figures in the next few months, so as much as I need to liquidate some cash, I will be holding until at least February. With news, I may hold longer.
Good luck to all investors, hopefully our risks pay off.
For those who claim to have no stake in this stock, why bother commenting? We all know it’s a risky share, but sometimes high risk has high reward, otherwise we would’ve just invested in the FTSE100
Signs of unrest in Moscow, Blockades was being put in place around key areas in the city for predicted protests. Russians are beginning to realise how pointless this war Is after they announced this retreat. And yes it is a retreat, you don’t leave your equipment behind and in many cases food and even uniforms has been left, swapt for civilian clothing so they can run back to the Russian border.
It’s not even faulty equipment they are leaving, yesterday video footage showed up to 70 heavy armour in working order abandoned. Many had full tanks of petrol and plenty of ammo.
Russia must be up there some of the highest amounts of military aid to Ukraine! Haha
Christian Schaffalitzky, Executive Chairman commented: "The Directors are pleased that Artem Matyushok, a high profile M&A professional has agreed to join Eurasia. The experience of Artem and his knowledge of Eurasia can -significantly speed up- it’s our Russian assets sale process".Lets hope significantly speeds up means he gets this done soon. Done by end of summer imo! Last top up.
Our buyer?! ;)

You last few comments are taken the conversation out of contexts because Amers comments have been deleted, probably because he deleted his account.
I was merely replying to him saying no ones ever made a profit from this and we’re all going to lose money on this... but stay salty. Many people like me has made a profit from this, and it’s no crime stating the fact alright.
Amers I’m not dreaming though because it’s already made me a sh*t load of cash. I bought most of my shares at 2 to 4p, sold most at 39p rinse repeat, most recent example is bought at 17p last August, sold the same amount at 32p.
Sadly my luck as run out as I had 80% of my initial profits down during the big drop recently,
but at this moment I’m time, this would have to drop sub 2p for me to break even, so basically no risk for me and almost guaranteed profit :)
Can’t be asked to read any more comments on here... either full of Russians who don’t know sh*t because their fascist government has blocked them off from reality or selfish pigs who only care about their money over humanity.. but by far the worst of the lot are the Russian sympathisers.
Please reply, won’t read it but it’ll help this stay as a top thread. Good night
And what point are you making? That is still on Putins hands you complete idiot...nothing to comment on the rest of what I had to say? No, because you hardly understand any of the background to it, bet you didn’t even know of Putins regular publishing’s of his “scientific reports”
honestly some people just don’t have a brain.
I don’t usually get involved with arguing...sorry but Everest you clearly have never done anything above a GCSE if you think you’re sources/videos are of a reliable source. If you do some reading, you’ll quickly find that Putin wrote a 30 PAGE ESSAY not that long ago which clearly shows how deranged he is and how he still believes in imperial conquest. He’s delusional. Putin started multiple times in his essay “The collapse of the Soviet Union is the greatest catastrophe of the Century”...yeah so he thinks it’s worse than WW2...
Please go and have a read up mate.
I’m not basing this off of any media agenda or anything...THIS IS OFF OF PUTINS OWN WORDS!
He believes all of the former Soviet countries are Russian teritories...in particular Ukraine, and always have been (Even though Kyiv was a prosperous city before Moscow was on any map).
He will do anything retain the Soviet block because he’s deranged. And don’t you dare say they’ve been taking it easy when I know people who’s children have been killed in rural areas!
There’s loads of verified videos out there of kids bodies stacked up and even videos of civilians trying to escape by car, posing no threat...only to be blown to bits
Educate yourself or don’t comment on something you know nothing about
The Bod shouldn’t get too greedy and just settle for a deal and try and time it perfectly with positive news in Ukraine. We know we’ve had offers as stated in previous RNS.
Adversely, if we’re still ages away from a sale then release some positive news E.g. we rejected offers in the range of £1 per share
Just bought 30k more. A lot for me considering I'm still a student.
I don't trust Russia but have trust in the company. Therefore I'm pretty sure were going to get a decent RNS soon with an aim to diminish the worrying that's happening atm. My plan personally is to keep monitoring the situation. I expect a rise to 20p again soon, and if the situation worsens, I will sell my 30k for a small profit and go again once it drops...However, my 60k previously invested will stay here until the end.
Fingers crossed and good luck to all of us.
I’m in the same situation. Sadly HL don’t do Bed and ISA so if I wanted to move mine into an ISA I’d have to sell and be out for 2 working days. For now I’m not doing it because with my luck the deal will happen whilst I’m out.
Jeez, inflation up to 5.1%.... you don’t want to be holding the majority of your savings in the banks. Especially when the majority offer <2% interest rates these days.
I’m pumping more into here whilst we’re still extremely undervalued.
