The ROC payment will be around £11m on their turnover, way more than the £1m stated. Just check the facts on the Ofgem website of how much they have to pay, around 13% of the turnover. They have collected this money by charging this on customers tariffs, in effect they are a tax collector like all energy companies. Clearly, they have not paid that yet and they know exactly what the payment would be. This is not their money, so the cash position of the business is not as stated, another slight of hand trick to try and present the business in a good light. The times on Sunday said that there are 9 energy companies that will go bust in the coming months - all probably due to the fact they have used customers money to fund their business and now can't afford to pay the ROC payment. BK has taken millions out of the business when it floated and a £250k salary and granted options - perhaps he should be giving that money back to help fund the business so shareholders are not left to bail out the business.
