Perhaps general market malaise. Noted that Tesla and BMW will be starting production in Mexico once their factories are established which bodes well for Volex who have a facility in Mexico.

Can’t see too much of a rise in SP if the CEO keeps on selling the bulk of his shares as has happened over the past two years when the SP is around 180 p. Proceeds from the sales are ~£2 million.

Devro ‘s undemanding rating P/E < 10 could herald a takeover from either Cranswick or Viscofan. Management appear to be steering company in right direction , reducing debt etc after having invested >£100 million over recent years.

Millennium International Management have increased their short position on McBride….which may explain decline in SP. Trading update in mid - July will confirm whether recent modest purchases by insiders herald a recovery.

Tesla is increasing output from new manufacturing plants in Berlin and Texas. This should benefit Volex .The possibility that Elon Musk should take a minority interest, however small, in Volex would also be beneficial.

Quite a dramatic drop from the highs a few months ago. The main institutional holders eg Ruffer and others are still holding . No RNS’s to indicate otherwise.
Expecting a trading update in a couple of weeks.

Once fundamentals are reassessed would expect a gradual recovery in the SP after recent precipitous drop. Director purchases and decent half year report /comment are positive . Would expect additional purchases by other directors in the immediate future.

With Sp dropping to levels of 2 years ago now might be an opportune time for a takeover. Production at Malaysia plant ramping up.Compass strategy was forecast to hit £1 billion revenue within a few years ? The Barrow site has just been acquired by BAE systems. Directors have awarded themselves options ,LTIP at no cost to themselves. No dividend.Further weakness may trigger interest from other parties . Patience may be required, ….watching with interest.Private label discounters may seek to secure supply of goods.

Company stated previously they were targeting future sales of £1billion within not to distant future (Compass strategy)and next year now estimates profits of less than £10 million. Perhaps those heavyweight institutional investors may back a takeover bid .

Seems a bit odd that the SP has crashed ~10% after a cracking set of results and very positive forward looking statements .Perhaps the MM’s are viewing a low entry point for their clients as growth is expected from recent Turkish acquisition and also doubling of the manufacturing capacity at Batam , data Centre’s, and medical operations. Looks a bit oversold on that basis.

Devro appears to have woken from its moribund state .Perhaps future is looking rosy after these past few years .

Expecting news on opening of the new Batam manufacturing plant,increase in dividend ,possible acquisition and a very positive outlook for the year ahead .
