I would really like to increase my holding, but HZM are already the largest component of my portfolio (by cash invested - not necessarily by current value!). Just wondering how far I can push my risk tolerance.

If they are selling their entire HZM holding there could still be a way to go - total volume today somewhat less than there reported holding. Hopefully will be done soon - took an opportunity for a small top up today, which brings my average down slightly, but I have been in since 4p days, so could do with some good news!

I think that I agree with the first 2 posters on this - it is both a solid update but also nothing new. Having read the RNS, I cannot say that there was anything there that we didn't already know. The key thing to get the share price really moving will be the financing - this update just says that is work in progress. I am fully committed to HZM and believe there is significant potential here, and while this morning's update is somewhat reassuring, it is no more than that.

From RNS (@MrDT): In relation to the additional capital the Project requires, the Company continues to progress all options previously outlined with a view to securing the additional capital in a manner which complements the senior debt financing and meets the liquidity requirements of the Project.

Interesting article on battery storage - but I am not sure whether this would have caused the price moved we have seen today for RedT - the article is pretty much pure lithium!

Speaking for myself, my personal break-even point is just shy of 4p, so I won't consider myself to have made any multiples unless we get at at least double that! That would make it some where between 3 - 4 times the current price. I just wonder what people mean when they say "many"...

I see a few people seem to be getting quite excited about the prospects for a takeover - am I unusual in wanting to see this through to production? I know that an offer could give us a quick return, but looking at the numbers associated with Araguaia and the potential for Vermelho, I think I would rather get long term returns, both from share price growth plus the prospects of an income stream. Am I alone in this?

@the_watcher - oops, hadn't spotted the RNS. Checked just after 7:00, but this one came out quite late. I shall have to see if I can get on the call on Monday morning.

I will admit that the waiting is getting difficult, but so long as the RNS is out by or before next Wednesday, they will just about have met the latest "mid to late October" promise. The tweet at the beginning of the month also helped to boost my confidence. I do have more at stake here than any other holding, so still hopeful and not selling. (Probably won't buy any more though - I could just about live with a loss at my current level, although still expecting great things!)

I kind of hope that there isn't a bit out. Been with HZM for a while now and would ideally like to see theine developed and producing, rather than getting a short-term buy-out boost.

Nice to see this movement so far today - and before any actual FS announcement too. Managed to get a sneaky top up in yesterday - although had a few nervous moments as my trade had to be routed to a broker rather than online. Here's hoping for more to come...

The main reason that the large coal plants are shutting is due to the EU Large Combustion Plant directive around CO2 emissions, and also due to economics.

Not sure where you get your assumption that the 275kV and 400kV transmission network is being dismantled from though - if anything the grid is being reinforced in various places due to new generation such as wind farms (which all tend to be a long way from the demand centres) and Hinckley.

One thing I do agree on though is the need for grid-scale storage. RedT has mainly focussed on diurnal storage - shifting solar within-day. I remain concerned about longer term storage - it is not unheard of in the UK to have long periods of extremely cold windless days in the winter due to blocking high-pressure patterns. Not sure if VRFB can cope with that - although with big enough tanks, I guess we probably could!

Oops - should have been "formerly" in previous post! Could I ask a favour? If anyone attends the half-year results call could you post a summary? I would be particularly interested in learning when all these RNS announcements will start to impact the bottom line.

Not sure how it works in the NHS, but in the formally public sector utility that I work in, a framework agreement is really useful in procurement. Normally all large purchases have to go through an EU tender process to ensure that all companies in the EU have an opportunity to bid. Once a framework agreement is in place, you can in effect single-source future purchases, as the framework agreement process has already covered the EU procurement rules.

I have a couple of genuine questions about this: 1: why would the credit rating of the German company be relevant when redT have stated that they are “bringing the finance” (whatever that means!) 2: how can a company represent non existent sales in their annual report (ie stuff that’s in negotiation by not yet agreed). I think that a number of companies have been busted for fraud for early booking of sales in their accounts. As stated previously, I was at the AGM and found that the directors appeared credible and had a compelling story. I am open to new information though, as I am as capable of having the wool pulled over my eyes as the next person.

I think that the cost of the electrolyte was given as about 30% of the overall unit cost. So effectively we have an asset life of ~25 years, after which the electrolyte can be recovered and reused (was described as a”non wasting asset”). They also mentioned payback times and IRR, but I don’t have my notebook with me, and can’t recall the numbers.

From what Scott was saying at the AGM on Friday, they believe that RedT “bringing the finance” substantially de-risked the project as they were more in control and less likely to be driven to unrealistic timescales etc. I am no expert on any of this, but one comment I will make: Either they (the BoD) really do believe that this is a game changer or they are accomplished actors! I was sat within a couple of metres of Scott while he was presenting / answering questions and I never got any hint the he was being anything other than open and honest. They all seemed really enthusiastic about the German deal allowing them to scale up over the next couple of years.

I was only using the “jam tomorrow” phrase to reflect the fact that it’s not quite money in the bank yet - hopefully the financing will be as easy as RedT seem to believe, and hopefully this is just the first of many such announcements. This is one of the few investments where I have been worried that I was letting my desire for the technology to work cloud my judgement. I have followed them down from about 12.5p, so still a little way to go before I break even!
