Because of the longevity of this mine and good dividends short term price fluctuations ,that started last year because of ore grades and mistakes ,if resolved quickly are not that important.
Sooner or later it will happen again,thats mining,nature gives and takes.
Traders on the other hand will not be happy as they either lose money or are locked in.
Thats life .

The drop in gold being profit taking and the mention of trade talks by the Chinese minister .
That does not mean necessarily an end ,or truce to the trade war and sanctions.
