The RUB is gaining strength as it's effectively now a currency backed by commodities. The war has been a catalyst for this and pushed Russia to look east and towards the BRICs.

In contrast, Sterling and the Euro are sliding despite interest rate rises. The future is capital flows into Russia. I bet as the war winds down and Europe is struggling with impacts of sanctions on energy security and inflation, EUA will get a mega deal. Just ride this current storm.

The reality is Russia is slowly winning and will annex the south end east of Ukraine. It's too late for peace talks, as sanctions are harming the west more and Russia is in mood to listen after Johnston sabotaged the Istanbul talks.

in the beginning of the conflict, the west thought that Russia would quickly fall under the shock and awe sanctions and unprecedented military aid to Ukraine. It is clear now, with huge inflation, energy and food shortages, in the western economies, that the plan to topple Putin has failed.

Best push Ukraine to stop fighting, save lives and make a deal on what will be left of the nation.
