As more shares have been bought today rather than sold, wouldn't one expect the price to go up?

I could do with a 7am RNS tomorrow to settle my nerves!

it hadn't crossed my mind that people would be paid by others to chat negative **** ad nauseam on these boards.

what a strange world i've wandered into.

of course, now that it's been pointed out, it makes sense. i can't think of any other reason why someone would do it.

what a joyless existence.

As a newish member of these boards the different types of posters fascinate me.

Most seem to be regular people having a chat about the stock they hold, musing on its potential future performance and sharing knowledge and insight.

The tone of each poster isn't necessarily to my taste, but so what, I understand why they're on the board.

There's a small group that seem to flit from share to share rapidly posting about impeding excellent performance before disappearing from that share. I understand the benefit to them of doing this.

Then there appears to be a small subset of prolific posters that post repeated doom-laden messages and often mocking existing holders. I don't see the benefit of this to them. Ok post once, but what is with the repeated banging on? What is the benefit of that to anyone?! This stock seems to be infested with them.

What an emotional rollercoaster ride this share is.

I only started with investing 2 months ago having grown tired of the poor rate of return on my Premium Bonds.

I had no idea what I was doing (and still don't) but one day stumbled upon Wood Group as it was domincating the Share Chat.

I bought in. Since the I've topped up many times including negotiating with my husband to take a chunk out of the holiday account. He thinks I'm mad and maybe he's right.

My final top up was today when I sold my Narf stock at a tidy profit to chuck more in here.

I've leaned so much from (most of) you over the last 2 months. It's been fascinating reading.

I'm in for the long haul here. Thank you for being so generous in sharing your knowledge and your thoughts.

Am I right in thinking that if Sidara make an offer, then there has to be an RNS?

A post below implied they may be negotiating behind the scenes, is that possible?

What could be the reason for this significant growth today? There's no RNS, which is what I would have expected.

I bought in mid-Feb so need a further increase before I'm back i blue.

If you don't want to, fair enough. I can imagine it's annoying to have someone that's clueless interfering.

My average buy in price is about 29p so this is very exciting at the moment.

@BeardedDragon, they've deleted any Wood related posts prior to this weekend.

From my memory though they were accurate about the CFO.

Of course, they could now be having fun and games with us.

I'm very new to this world so learning massive amounts very quickly. I still feel I only now about 1% of what I need to.

So far I've gone for mostly sensible feeling companies and funds that I would be happy explaining my thinking about to my husband, and a handful of frankly ludicrous punts that are obviously the ones that will make me a multi-millionaire!

WG were not originally in my portfolio but I noticed it dominating the "Latest Share Chat" and raided my shoes and bags fund to buy in.

My cash had made about 1% in Premium Bonds last year. If WG goes for a £1 that alone will be over 10% which should provide some buffer for the inevitable disastrous choices I've made with the punts.

Exciting times.

His posts re WG have now been deleted although the account remains active.

Curious.

I've got virtually no idea what I'm doing. I only started investing this month and even I managed to get in here at 25.

Watching and learning from you all is exhausting and fascinating in equal measure.
