Deloitte appointed Administrators to Jarvis Plc Mar 29 2010 Nick Edwards, Neville Kahn, Phil Bowers and Ian Brown, partners in Deloitte, have been appointed as Joint Administrators of Jarvis Plc and its subsidiary Jarvis Accommodation Services Ltd (the Companies), following an application to Court by the Directors. The Administrators are in the process of performing a rapid assessment of the financial position of the Companies, and commencing discussions with key stakeholders in order to formulate a strategy to stabilise the business. Nick Edwards, Deloitte partner and Joint Administrator, commented: Unfortunately, Jarvis Plc reached a position where a substantial funding gap meant they were unable to continue trading. Our immediate priority will be to work with stakeholders to stabilise the business while we identify which parts of the business we can continue to trade and seek buyers for as going concerns.

The Times has learnt that Jarvis’s lenders felt they had no choice other than to put 2,000 jobs at risk by putting the company into administration because they believed other creditors, including HMRC, were set to bankrupt Jarvis themselves. Bank of America and Bank of Ireland, which put Jarvis into administration over a loan of just £15 million, declined to comment. But it is understood they had received final demands for payment from HMRC and other creditors. HMRC was owed £3.2 million, according to Jarvis’s most recent accounts.

Talks between Google and UK estate agents to create an online property portal could pose a serious threat to existing property websites and local newspapers, warn experts. Google launched a property portal in Australia last August, enabling estate agents to list properties for free, showing both pictures taken from its Street View service and details on a map. According to property websites and estate agents, the giant US internet search company could launch something similar in the UK as early as 2010. Douglas McCabe, of Enders Analysis, believes the move could eventually: 'affect everyone and newspapers will suffer another chapter in the story of consumers being more and more aware of alternatives to their classified advertising.' All articles in media are really related to the share price increase 2 main papers Guardiam and Telegraph is within there share news .I was in and out of this 3 times today but this part of the lse article concerned me so not holding now maybe i will miss the boat tomorrow but this man does it for a living so watch for a retrace. This share is just stabilising from some profit taking still been more buys than sells last few days this as a medium to long term play is a nice little recovery stock.I took up full OO and wont be selling till this hits £1 and im sure that will be next year as recovery takes effect.Directors brought into OO in a big way and in time we will get our rewards !!!
