In April 2020 the Company made the strategic decision to refocus the resources of the business towards COVID-19 testing, a step driven both by our experience and capability in PCR test development, and the headwinds we started to see in our on-market assays as a result of the pandemic.

An equity raise in May 2020 generated £8.0m to help fund development of a rapid high throughput test and a longer-term point-of-care test based on the Genedrive® platform. Investments here have started to reap returns in the first half of 2020/21 and we have seen the emergence of our first revenues and commercial leads that have the potential to support the Company over the coming years.

We should also not forget that last year Genedrive announced that the Company’s Genedrive 96 SARS-CoV-2 Kit had received approval from the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority. The Genedrive kit was submitted for evaluation in June 2020.

Under the approval, the Kit can now be distributed and sold within South Africa. Genedrive products are supplied in the country, and more broadly within Africa, via the Sysmex EMEA organisation. Due an update on this as well.

Been looking into GDR a bit more lately, trying to understand how they've managed to keep the company going for so long with very little share dilution. They've been able to generate income and receive quite substantial funding from the US DoD.

Looks like Genedrive is the first port of call for the DoD when it comes to obtaining devices to detect bio hazards. They are also well backed by the department for any further R&D required to improve the devices. Genedrive look to be in a very good space at the moment, and have quite a few healthy collaborations and partnerships.

Mafacker - it doesn't neccessarily open bang on the out of hours closing trade price, but the market does open significantly higher than the official closing price.

Ma Facker - Refer back to closing price on 29.04.2021, SP closed on 72.50, the next day it opened on 85.50. Why do you think that was?

Officially we close @56.60, but the out of hours trading has bumped it up to a 74 open for Monday.

MMA_Hemp - Join the club. I bought in three tranches, the first lot @79 the second @76 and third @56. Managed to average down to 69. I'm sure the money could be better spent elsewhere but I like PPS and the work they're doing for the green sector, I feel they will soon come good, the potential is huge.

The company has been developing their products for just over a year now and have only recently won significant contracts. I think they are overall in an upward momentum. I'm here for the long term so the recent dips don't bother me too much. If it drops to 40 i'll average down some more.

Now back down to 58, can't keep up. Very volatile.

This is just the beginning, I think we will see a bit more upward momentum in the coming days/weeks. We could still yet finish on 70.

I don't think it was a poorly worded RNS. The company can be banned from trading if they RNS inaccurate or misguided information. The company had to announce the truth, and if we have to sell our kits at a lower price, then they have to announce it.

Budd said it how he should and how it is, it's just that some folks dont like to hear the truth especially if it hurts their investments. End of the day we now have a licence to import our Kits to India which should be the main thing we take away from today's RNS
