RE: SPREAD Manipulation15 Jan 2022 23:49
Out of interest, what is the spread for virgin money? Comparing ftse 100 to ftse 250 isn’t a fair comparison. If a share doesn’t have a buyer then shares are bought by something like a market maker. They will then set the prices accordingly until there is a market for the shares. This is part of the reason for the spread at opening for shares like metro. Metro is a low cap share so, currently, demand is not necessary high, especially at opening. Whether you think it is under valued or not is irrelevant if the market has a low interest in it. For the record I am a metro investor, I don’t know if I’m classified as a good sized one or not, but my average purchase price is 95.8p and I don’t want to sell for less than 135p!
