"Take a look at some fairly valued companies" - all of the companies you mention are at historical high (and absurd) valuations in the biggest bubble market ever!

I did, last week. Have held it since the rights issue, sold half around 9.80 and the other at 10.70.

The decline from the recent top is only around 8%. For a share that has performed so strongly, and which is so overvalued and over-hyped, this nothing. Long term holders should prepare or a drop of around 20% or so. Below 900 would not be surprising.

Consensus EPS for this year and the next three are as follows: 24.8, 29.5, 33.3, 36.7.

For FY28, the PE is 31x - that means an awful lot is priced in.

Long-term returns in any valuation method are determined by the starting valuation - RR is already very richly priced (NOT the absolute share price).

What if everything you have mentioned is already factored into the share price? Already trading on over 30x consensus earnings or FY27 - doesn't leave much room for error.

All of the other emotional topics aside, how do we think RR will perform in the next leg down in the US market? It is, after all, a stock in a stock market, and markets look set to be under pressure. For what it's worth, I think we may revisit the low £6's in the coming weeks.

Source = Rolls RNS, published daily. So far, more than13 million shares bought. Total number of shares to be bought back (depending on price) will be around 125milion. If they stagger the purchases for cash flow reasons, then it will take longer, but looking at recent volumes and the buyback activity, it suggests that it is helping to prop up the share price at the moment. On another point, I wonder if the gap on the chart around 625 will get filled one day....

As of yesterday's close, over 10% of this has been completed. Will be interesting to see what happens when it's finished in a few weeks. A little concerned that this may be what's propping up the share price at the moment.

The story behind this stock is really old by now, and SMR contribution to profit a decade away. Closer to £5 than £7 on the next results day. Probably well below £5 before year-end. Don't bother reciting flying hours, AUKUS, defense etc - it's all too long in the tooth
